My Favorite Color

Hello.  How are you doing today?  I  am having a pretty good day.  I have some straighten to do around the house and  some laundry to do but other than that, I am going to work on some projects and enjoy the afternoon.

My favorite color is yellow.  I don't use it on my cards often.  I don't know why but when I do, I always like the results.  This card is the perfect example.  I went with yellow flowers automatically, but then I could decide what papers to use.  Maybe it was because I was using my scraps.  But after some time, it finally got finished.

I cut the small front flower out and popped it with some foam tape.  I used a brown ribbon just to add a different color.  Without it, the card was looking dull.

I am using the card in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Sketch #308
   Die Cuttin Divas - Garden
Clear It Out - Mother's Day
   Cuttlebug Mania - Button Up
Love Rubber Stamps - Add Flowers
Paper Take Weekly - Cute As A Button
Crafting By Design - Mother's Day
Natalie & Amy - Frame It

I am off to finish the other card like this one and I want to clean off my craft table.  I have trying to clean after every project.  Chat with you later.

White on White

Hello again.  I think today is a day for doing things outside my norm.  White on White is definitely something that I don't do often.

I saw this card at one time and I just knew I wanted to make one.  All the white makes it look elegant to me.  Embossing with texture folders is one of my favorite things to do.  It adds dimension.

I used a punch for the scalloped edge and a die for the butterfly and branch.  I made one birthday one and then three thinking of you cards.

I am using it in the following challenges:
One Crazy Stamper - Anything Goes
The Crafting Cafe - Flights of Fancy
As You Like It & Why - Embossing & Why
Sugar Pea Designs - Anything Goes
   Creative Card Crew - Sentiment

Off to see what else I can do today/night
.

Similar But Different

Hello.  How is everyone doing?  I have gotten a few things done and I have still had time to play.  So that has made it a good day.

It has been a while since I picked a card off Pinterest and made a similar card.  This Spring tree was a great one to work with.  Lots of things that you could change.  I have never made a card with a transparent front.  I have always wanted to try it so here it is.

The tree, grass, flowers, butterflies, etc are all cuts or punches that I have here and I used a lot of scraps so that was a plus.  I cut all the pieces and I am going to put the other cards together, when we go out of town in a few weeks.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Inky Impressions - Punch It
   Wednesday Inspiration - Anything Goes
Chocolate Coffee - Use a Diecut
   Paper Creators - Flowers
   Wags N Whiskers - Flowers
   Creative Cutting - Spring

I have another card to finish so I will be back soon.

Clean and Simple

Hello.  It is finally the weekend.  I have some things I want to get done but I am hoping for lots of playtime.  I want to work on some challenges tonight, but I also want to just make some things for the fun of making them.

This image from Whimsie Doodles is one of those fun things, but also a challenge.  I loved the sentiment that came with Abby.  So I just had to make a card with her.   The card will be going to a friend of mine that just hates rain.  But I know she will get a kick out of the card.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Addicted to CAS - Showers
Cute Card Thursday - Clean & Simple
Simon Says Wednesday - Clean & Simple
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Through The Purple Haze - Anything Goes
3 Girl Jam - Anything Goes
   Marker Pop - April Showers

Hopefully I will be back later.

Shaker Cards

Hello.  Happy Thursday.  Tomorrow is Friday and I am so looking forward to the weekend.  I am off all weekend and my husband will still be out of town so I will have the house to myself.  That means lots of playtime.

I have been stamping/paper crafting for over 20 years.   Shaker cards have been around for most of that time.  But they are so much easier now.  I remember going crazy and buying all kinds of  sequins to put on the inside.  I still have a lot of them.  I want to make more shaker cards. Lori Whitlock's shakers make them so easy.  You just cut all of the layers and glue them together.  Add the sequins and the top layer and you are good to go.

After putting the shaker together, I had to make a card.  I wanted to use blue so I could send it to some of the men on my birthday list.  I decided my birthday texture folder would make a great background.  I just love using texture folders as backgrounds.

I am going to use the card in the following challenges:
   Little Tangles - Sequins
   Suzy Bee's - Die and/or Punches
Craftin Desert Divas - Shaker Card
Sugar Pea Designs - Sketch #24
City Crafters - Case #3 (shaker)
   Crafty Creations - Seeing Spots
Seize the Birthday - Create a Background

Off to clean off my table.  Chat with you later.

SVG Cutting's Hummingbird

Hello and good evening.   I have just one card today.  My sister and I saw this hummingbird over at SVG Cutting Files and we both knew we were going to have to cut it.  My parents love feeding the hummingbirds and  usually have unbelievable amount.  My Dad usually fills the feeders (they have about 6) twice a day.  Sometimes three times.  When I am in town, I love just sitting out on the deck watching them.

After cutting out the hummingbird and feeder, I decided to make the card simple so that the cute little hummingbird would be the focus point.  I put three gems on the bottom corner of the feeder and eyelets on the bottom where the hummingbird gets the food.

I cut out three of them, but I only put one together.  I put all of the pieces in a ziplock and I am going to take them to an out of town wedding.  We will be gone for several days and it will give me something to put together during my down time.

I am using the card in the following challenges:
   613 Ave Create - Diamonds
Tuesday Throwdown - Up In The Air
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passio - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
   Crazy Hazelnut's - Anything Goes

Have a great night.  Chat with you tomorrow.

Clean and Simple

Hello again.  I am back with a CAS card.

I printed this cute smiley cake from My Scrap Chick and I just had to use it.    I kept it simple so I could use it for the CASology challenge.  And it needed to be yellow for Clear It Out.  Plus the challenge at ABC Challenges is H is for Happy Birthday.   That is all of the challenges for this one.

Now to see what else I can do.

Hello Elephant

Hello.  I guess it is time for the weekend to end.  It just flew by.  I worked most of the day and now I am going to play for a little while.

Thank you for all the kind words on my From The Heart card last night.  I really appreciate them.

Tonight, I am playing with Hello Edward by Bugaboo.  I know I can use some other color besides red when I make an elephant but I just automatically go with red.

I am using it for the following challenges:
   Die Cuttin Divas - Zoo
   Simon Says Monday - Middle
Tuesday Morning Sketch - Sketch #296
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
   Di's Digitals - Animals
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Off to see what else I can make.  Be back later hopefully.

Fron The Heart

Hello.    I hope everyone is having a sunny weekend.  It was a beautiful day today.  Too bad I had to work and spent most of the day inside.

All of this sunny weather had got me in the mood for Spring and that means flowers.  I went looking through some of my favoirte companies for flowers and I found this one by From The Heart.  I cut the flowers out and popped them and the hearts.  Once the card was together, I added some shimmer with my Wink of Stella.  The sketch is also from From The Heart.

The challenge at As You Like It is Alcohol Markers or Distress Ink.  I have to say I love my markers.  I love being about the put my shading on my images.

I am going to use in the following challenges:
From The Heart - Sketch #105
A Gem of a Challenge - Spring is in The Air
   Curtain Call - Bouquet
   Artistic Inspiration - Spring
   Digi Sketch - Flowers
As You Like IT - Alcohol Markers & why

I will be back in a little while.  Chat with you then.

Shaker Card

Hello.  I hope everyone has a great weekend planned.  I am working all weekend, but I hope to have some time each evening to play.

Tonight I started with the Block Hummingbird image from Bugaboo.  After coloring the flowers red, I decided to cut the center out and make it a shaker card.  So no hummingbird.  I think it came out really well.  I have always loved shaker cards, but it has been a while since I have made any.  Now I have made quite a few.

I am going to use the card in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Recycle (paper from my scrap bags)
   Suzy Bee's - Flowers
613 Create - Create Your Own (A2, Thinking of you, Sequins)
   Marker Pop - Anything Goes
Catch The Bug - Sketch #307
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
   City Crafter - Case #2 - Flowers
Pile It On - Fancy Frames and/or Borders

Chat with you tomorrow after work.

Cut It Up

Hello and good Friday morning.

It is time for another Cut It Up Challenge.  Where does the time go?  The theme this time is Funny.  I don't normally make funny cards so instead I made a pun tag.

I am still working on things for my husband's trip, so I used this Miss Kate Cuttables' title and then wrapped some chewing gum.  If nothing else, he will smile when he sees it.

The sponsor this time is As Cute As A Button.  The winner will get a $20 gift certificate.

I hope to see all of you over at Cut It Up.  Have a great weekend.

Miss Kate Cuttables

Hello everyone.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  It is nice and sunny here.  Beautiful weather.

Miss Kate Cuttables has a free svg every day.  This was from Monday.  I knew when I saw it, that I was going to make a card out of it.  I had to make the card by adding an offset to the whole cutting file.  I should have made the card with off white cardstock but I wasn't thinking.  Oh well, it is done now.  The balloons had strings to cut but I like the twine and the strings didn't cut too well.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
   Creative Cutting - Anything Goes
Crafting By Design - Shaped Card
Scribble & Scraps - Anything Goes
   PINspiration - Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar - Add a Sentiment
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes or Long and Skinny

Hopefully I will be back with something else tonight.  If not, have a good one.

Challenges

Hello.  What a crazy day it has been.  It was the first day back to work after having a week off.  That made it crazy but then I added a million other things.  I think, I am sitting down for the first time all day.  On the flip side of all of that craziness, I have walked over 15,000 steps today.  Wow, not a personal record but still a lot of steps.

I am combining challenges.  (I know nothing new there).  And because of that, I came up with this cute but simple card.  Yes, it is a Valentine's card,  I will be ahead for once.

The Card came from Silhouette Online.  After I cut it, I stamped the hearts and the Happy Valentine's Day.    That's the card, simple and quick.

I am using it for the following challenges:
City Crafter - Case One (Pink)
   Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals - Any Holiday (Valentines)
Paper Take Weekly - Anything Goes
Just Add Ink - Color Inspiration (Pink and White)
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes

I don't know if I will be back or not.  Have a great evening.

A Quick One

Good morning.

I am here this morning with just a quick birthday card.  I was originally going to make this for my nephew's birthday, but I realized this morning that I need a quick birthday card for a friend, so I cut this one out real quick.

I am going to use it in the challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  The challenges is numbers

I need to run some errands and then hopefully I will be back to play.  Have a great day.

Spring

Hello again.  Man, is my internet connection slow tonight.  If it doesn't get faster, I might be finished for the night.  Even though, I have one more project, I want to work on.

My sister called and she had about 30 minutes to play so I went looking for something quick and easy.  I found this pretty spring card.  You can find in the Silhouette Online store.  I just love it.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Suzy Bee's - Anything Goes/Pastel Colors
Di's Digitals - Spring Is Here
   Artistic Inspiration - Flowers

Lori Whitlock

Howdy.  How are all of you doing?  I am listening to the rain.  So much for working outside this week.  Oh well, maybe next week.

I thought I would work on some challenges today but at the same time, I wanted to work on some things that I just wanted to make.  First, I want to have a couple of cards to send with my husband when he goes out of town.

So I started looking (he is an electrician),  I have several that go with his work theme.   I decided to make this card by Lori Whitlock.  I just love her cards.  They cut so well and go together easy.  I made two.  I am going to send one to my Dad.

KaDoodle's Eggie Buddies

Hello and good afternoon.  Spring break has been cloudy and rainy so far.  The temperature is at least bearable.  It is in the high 50's, low 60s.

My husband is getting ready to take another trip out of town.  So that means more treat holders.  I like to have him one for every day he is gone.  It doesn't always happen, but maybe...

As you may remember we are huge University of Alabama fans (Roll Tide!!!).  So I am always looking for elephants.  KaDoodle Bug's new Eggie Buddies are just so cute.  When I saw the elephant I knew I had to have him.

I still had the candy bar holder open on my Silhouette Designer so I thought I would cut out a few elephants and make a few more.  My husband will get one and of course, one will be waiting on my son when he comes home next time.  And then I will have a third one, just in case I need it for something.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
613 Ave Create - Anything Goes
   Addicted to CAS - Cute
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
Scrabble & Scrap - Anything Goes
Glitter N Sparkle - Anything Goes

Hope to see you later.  Have a good afternoon.

Little Miss Muffet

Good morning (or almost afternoon).  I had a late start this morning.  I have some cleaning to do but I will get to it in a little while.  I wanted to make something since my room is all clean.

I am an organizing addict.  Every thing has a place and I like to keep them in that place.  I think that is one of the reason, I have been playing around in my craft room.  It was a mess.  Now it isn't so hopefully, I will be back at it.

The paper for this card came from a paper pack from DCWV (The Spring Mix).  It is a 6x6 pack.  I made two of these cards and used both of the sheets.  It was two sided so I will not have any scraps left.  It was almost perfect for making these two cards.

The little girl is PDP Daisy from Little Miss Muffet.  She is just so adorable.  I wish I had picked the paper first so the balloons could have been less pink.  Oh well.....

I am going to use the card in the following challenges:
Fab N Funky - Lots of Layers
Little Miss Muffet - Spring Colors
Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
   Wednesday's Inspiration - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday - Happy Birthday
   Sketch Saturday - Sketch #355

Have a great day and I will hopefully see you later.

Still here

Hello and yes, I am still here.  It has been busy around here and I have been in a reading mood.  When I get some free time, I have been reading on my kindle.  Plus my craft room was a mess and it didn't inspire me to make anything.

Today was the first day of our Spring Break at school, so I am off all week.  I spent all day today cleaning my craft room and re-organizing my desk.  It is super clean right now.  I have a couple of projects I started and never finished so I am going to work on those tomorrow (well today, since it is pass midnight.).

The first is this cute little candy holder.  I cut out three of these and only got one made.  It went in my husband's Easter basket.   I have two more to make.   I will just put them up for next year.

The holder is from Silhouette Online (it is one of my favorites.  You have seen it before and you will see it again.  I just love it.) and the rabbit is from SVG Cutting.  I originally cut the rabbits too big so I had to recut them.  I put the larger ones together and put them with my Easter paper.  I will make cards with them next year.

I am going to use the treat holder in the following challenges:
Paper Take Weekly - Take Your Pick
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
   Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes

I will try not to disappear again.  And if I do, not for as long.  Have a great night.  See you in a few hours.
