Summertime Strawberries

Hello.  I have got to get some work done today, but before I do, I have a quick card for you.

Nothing says summertime like strawberries.  This single little strawberry is from Denami.  I kept it simple with just a couple of circles and a fancy border.  After putting the card together, I added some liquid accent to make it shiny.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Gem of a Challenge - Summertime
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
   Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
   Addicted to CAS - Summertime

Off to clean off my desk.  Chat with you soon.  Have a great day.

Flamingo

Hello.  Here is another quick one....I only have a few minutes to get this one posted.

I love MFT and I always say I am going to enter their challenges.  Well, today is the day.

I have been on a flamingo kick lately.  This set is by Lawn Fawn (I know another obsession lately.  lol)  It is just too cute.  I quickly pulled out some leaves from my die cut and added them.  I am not sure about the flamingo on their I will have to come up with something else next time.  I might leave it off and add more leaves.  I just didn't have alot of time to think about it.  I am glad it was a sketch.

I am using in the following challenges:
MFT Card Challenges - Sketch #395
Cute Card Thursday - Too Cute
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes

Chat with you again soon.

A Twist

Hello and Happy Tuesday.  I am going to work in my craft room today and try and get a few more things put away.  I haven't started the closet yet.  I really want to get every thing else done before I tackle it.  I have plans for this weekend but I am hoping next weekend to put the shelving in it and then start putting things away.  I can't wait.  I love organizing things.

The challenge over at Just Add Ink is use a twist.  This card has a twist in it.  The stripe is the ground stamp in the SU Sheltering Tree set.  I thought it would really well.  The stars are just your basic star punch and then I added the ribbon and gems.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Just Add Ink - Use A Twist
   Cute Card Thursday - Cute
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes

Off to do a little more organizing.  Chat with you later.

Hello again

Hello again.  I got a lot done in my short break.   I made myself a small salad for a late lunch, canned a small batch of tomatoes, straighten the kitchen (it is a mess again thanks to my salad.), put a load of clothes in the washer, and folded a load.

I came back to make a quick card for the Freshly Made Sketches' challenge.  I used to love sketches more than any thing.  Some where along the way, I quit using them as much.  I don't know why.  This one was a quick and easy one.

I can't believe I went with a Christmas/Winter theme again.  I am still enjoying Summer.  At least this way, I will get some Christmas cards done early.

I used a circle image from Bugaboo.  I added some color to the scarf and his nose and that was it.  Since the circle has a Let It Snow sentiment, I added a snowflake on the bottom of the square.  I also added gemstones and some Stickles around the circle.  Last but not least, I added a ribbon.  I just love ribbons, they added a 3d look.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches - Sketch #347
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals - Christmas In July
As You Like It - Ribbons or Buttons & Why

Off to finish these up.  Chat with you again later.  I am still hoping my sister and I have time to play tonight.

Christmas In July

Hello.  I know I have been quiet.  It has been busy around my house.  School ended and I was all ready to spend some time in my craft room.  What is the saying....You make plans and God laughs.  He was laughing.

My son bought a house in Grand Rapids and moved the last of June.  I went up and spent a week with him.  It was just so much fun. We were busy but I just enjoyed the time.

I came home and it was time to get busy.  My husband was (still is) in the middle of a huge job and didn't have time for paperwork.  I usually help out but I had more than usual.  Then there was the 4th of July.

I had my routine down.  I was going to get some time in the craft room.  Then it dawned on me I had  two weeks before my son came home for his vacation.  That meant I had a lot to do.  I was moving his old bedroom and making it my craft room.  His new room needed painting.  It took forever to get the other room cleaned out but I did it.  I painted it red and gray.  University of Alabama colors.  It came out amazing.  I just love it. (I will be posting pictures later.)

The room got finished on Tuesday and he was due Thursday night.  I moved all the furniture and got it all set up.  But that  left a mess in the rest of the house.  I spent Thursday moving things into my new craft room.  I knew it would not be ready for his visit but I had to get started and organize some of the mess.

We had a great visit.  His girlfriend and I even got in my craft room for a little while.  I am still moving things around but I am getting there.  I updated my challenge list on Sunday and I really want to get a few things done this week.

To that end, I ran across this card, I started and never finished.  I thought it would be perfect for several of the Christmas In July challenges.  The little girl/elf is from Bugaboo stamps. I had previously cut all of the circles and I just needed to embossing the background and add all of the gems.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   AudSentiments - Christmas In July
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Die Cutting Divas - Christmas In July
Crafty Gals - Christmas In July

Well, I am off to fold some clothes and work in the kitchen for a few minutes.  Chat with you again soon.  Have a great afternoon.

Birthday Balloons

Hello.   How is everyone doing?  I have a quick card for you before I go eat lunch.

This is one of my favorite Silhouette files.  I have cut in several times with different color balloons.  I also love embossing the top balloon.  That is why I like dry embossing so much it adds even more dimension to the card.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiment - Anything Goes + Sentiment
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes + Birthday
   Crafty Gals - Anything Goes

Off to eat lunch.  Hopefully, I will be back later.

End of the Weekend

Hello.  I hope everyone has had a good weekend.  I spent it straighten the house and just relaxing.  I did work on a few unfinished projects today.

This card was one of them.  It is using the SU  Baby Bear set.  I just love this set.  It was the first time in some years that I had tried a set of layered stamps.  This set is so forgiving.  If it isn't lined up perfectly, that is ok.  It looks right.

Instead of a baby card,  I made it into a birthday.  With a special fold.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Fab N Funky - For A Child
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes
   Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
   Crafty Gals - Anything Goes

Off to finish another project.  Chat with you soon.  If not, have a great evening.

Inky Antics

Hello and Happy Memorial Day.  I hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday.

I have a real quick one for you.  I just love the rocker cards.  They are just so cute.  I thought the turtle on his back was just the right size for a rocker card.  I cut a small postage square and embossed it to follow the color scheme.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Die Cuttin Divas - Turtles
Simon Says Wednesday - Use More Than One Stamp
Your Scrapbook Place - Anything Goes
CAS on Sunday - Birthday Card

Off to clean my table and see what else I can find to work.  Chat with you later.  Have a good one.

Lighthouse

Hello again.  I am home from the Open House.  Dinner is over and all I need to do is clean up the kitchen.  Plus I want to go plant some tomatoes.

But before that, I wanted to make a card.  Usually, I make the card and then see which challenges it will fit under.  But I haven't done a sketch in a while and I do love them, so I decided to start with the sketch and see what stamp I have on my to play with stack would work with it.

The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  A perfect sketch for a big stamp.  I decided to use this lighthouse from C.C. Designs.  It has been sitting on my table for some time.  After picking out the stamp, I knew it would work for the challenge over at Dies R Us, but I needed to use a die.  What to do?????  It finally came to me.  I would flip the banner to the top right side instead of the bottom left and use my cloud thin cut.

You can't tell by the picture, but I cut the bird out and popped him with some foam tape. And added some Winks of Stella on the belly of the bird to give it a shimmer.

I just adore this card.  I am going to make a power kit out of it and take it to next week's crop.  I have got to make up some kits or I am not going to have any thing to do for the 10 hours.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Sketch #454
   Dies R Us - Birds
Your Scrapbook Place - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Little Boy Blue (Lots of Blue)

Off to plant some tomatoes.  Chat with you a little later hopefully.  Have a great evening.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

Hello and Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all of you in the USA.  To all of you who have lost loved ones defending this country.  Thank you.  I am extremely proud to be an American and proud of our military.

I  have a graduation open house to go to this afternoon, but I want to play around in my craft room for a little while before I go.

Last weekend, I went to a SU stamp class.  I have been going monthly and it has been lots of fun.  I didn't make as many cards last week but I did like the ones I made.

This is the first one.  I love all cards construction related.   My husband is an electrician so I am always looking for cards for him.  This will be one of his father's day cards.  He always gets more than one.

I don't have this set from SU so when I came home I used some of my dies and made my own version of it.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Papercraft Challenge - Anything Goes
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenges - Father's Day

Off to see what else I can get into.  Chat with you soon.  Have a great day.

Father's Day

Hello again.  One more quick one and I think I am going to head to bed.  Hopefully, I will fall asleep this time.

I have been working on Father's Day cards.  I have a couple more to do, but I thought my father-in-law would love this one.  His favorite thing to do during the summer is grilling.  So I just had to cut out this cute little grill.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
   A Gem of a Challenge - It's a Man's World
Cute Card Thursday - The Great Outdoors
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes

Chat with you later today.  Have a good one.

SU Lots of Lavendar

Hello.  How is everyone?  What a busy month it has been.  I couldn't sleep so I thought I would clean off my craft table.

This is another card using the SU Lots of Lavendar set.  So many possibilities and just so easy to use.  I just love it.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown - Crop the Image
Crafty Gals - Add a Flower
   Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
   MFT Challenges - Colors

Have a good night.

SU A Wild Thing

Hello.  How is everyone?  I can't believe it is the 15th of May and I haven't posted anything all month.  I do have several cards to post so I will try to get them up over the next few days.

I have one more card using the A Wild Thing set by Stampin Up.  This will be the last one for a few weeks.  I still want to play with it some more, but I am moving on.

I made this one a front and back Lion.  So when you open the card, you will see the back side of the lion.  I added a small circle on the inside of the card for the sentiment.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   CAS on Sunday - Cute
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
   Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - Cute + Sentiment

That is it for now.  Chat with you later.  Have a great evening.

CTMH Birthday Elephant

Hello again.

While I was cleaning my table,  I ran across this cute little elephant.  I started the card and haven't had a chance to finish it.  The elephants were colors but that was it.  I had to cut out the balloons and just put the card together.  I kept it simple.

Elephants are a favorite of mine.  Usually I color them with the C1, C3, C5 markers.  But this time I went with the W colors.

I am using him in the following challenges:
Craft Challenges - Anything Goes #16
Your Scrapbook Place - Anything Goes
Papercraft Challenges - Anything Goes #5
   Die Cutting Divas - Birthday
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes #389

Now to finish cleaning off my table.  Chat with you again soon.  Have a great evening.

Purple

Hello.  How is everyone doing tonight?  I came home from work full of energy.  And believe me that doesn't happen often.  So I got some housework done.  Now I am hoping to get some play time.

I don't like purple.  It is my least favorite color.  So I don't make cards with it often.  However, I just love the Lots of Lavendar set by Stampin Up.  When I first saw it, I wasn't sure about it.  Then I went to a SU card class and they used the set.  I fell in love with it.  You will see this set again, again and yet again.

I didn't want the whole card to be purple so I added the green ribbon/bow.  I think it makes the leaves pop a little bit.

I am using the card in the following challenges:
   Just Us Girls - Purple
   Papercraft Challenge - Birthday
   Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
   Craft Rocket - Flowers
Crafty Calendar - Buttons and/or Bows
Your Next Stamp - Sketch and/or Colors

Off to straighten my table and start my next project.  Chat with you soon.  Have a great evening.

A Wild Thing - Card 6

Hello.  I have been so  busy over the last few days.  Work is absolute insane.  We are getting ready for a huge inspection and we have been going non-stop to get every thing done.  Plus here at the house, I am just trying to get organized again.

I am still playing around with this set of stamps (SU's A Wild Thing) but I am going to stop here.  You will see more later.  I just can't stop coming up with ideas.

This is one of the first things I thought about when I saw the set.  Making a swing card.  I love it when there is a matching front and back to stamps.

I think I have gotten really good at the shading on these bears.  I used my favorite markers, my copics.  They  are perfect for shading.

Here is the final rundown of all of the cards I have made from this set so far.
                      Card 1 - Gray Elephant
                      Card 2 - Front & Back Elephant

Just Add Ink - Picture Inspired
   Art Impressions - Circles

Challenges & A Wild Thing Card 5

Hello.  Well, we are still getting freezing rain.  What a terrible day.  But it have gotten a few things done around here.

I wanted to work on some challenges today.  I feel like I have been missing more than I have entered.  Oh well, that is the way things go..  I will do what I can while still relaxing.

I was going to step away from the A Wild Thing set, but when I saw the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, I thought the lion would be perfect for the circle.  Instead of another strip of paper, I added twine.

If you are coming here from a challenge site, I am using the same stamp set and making several cards from it.  I am working with Stampin Up's A Wild Thing.  I just fell in love with this set.  This is my fifth card and I still have a few more I want to make.  Here is the run down of the other cards.  I will be adding a few more as I get them done.

A Wild Thing - Card 4

Hello.  How is everyone?  We are in the middle of a Winter Storm Advisory!  Will we ever get Spring weather?  I think we are going to skip Spring and go straight to Summer, I just hope it doesn't wait until June to get warm.  Unbelievable.

Here is another A Wild Thing card.  I actually made this one early last week, but it was in my to be finished cards.  I still have several more cards, I want to make.  I am working on the lion next.

A Wild Thing - Card 3

Hello again.  One more before I call it a night.

It is similar to the one before.  I did change it up a little.  I thought a yellow circle would make the bees and honeycomb pop.  I also added a beehive texture to the side.  I don't have a sentiment yet, but I will be adding something to the circle.

Don't forget, I am making a bunch of cards using the same stamp set.  Here is the run down on the other cards. I will be changing/adding as I post the other cards.
          Card 1 - Gray Elephant
          Card 2 - Front & Back Elephant
Card 3 - You are Here
Card 4 -Hello There Honey Bear
          Card 5 -Yellow Lion
          Card 6 - ????????

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
Dies R Us - Anything Goes
   Dream Valley - Dry Embossing
   Fab N Funky - Critters

Off to finish up the other cards.  I will chat with you tomorrow.

A Wild Thing - Card 2

Hello.  How is everyone today?  It has been a extremely busy week for me.  I am so looking forward to the weekend.  I have a Stampin Up class on Saturday and other than that, I am going to relax and enjoy the weekend.  It sounds like a plan, but I am sure I will find things to do around the house.  Including doing some work for my husband's company.  Oh well, I will get some relaxing in.

I have fallen in love with this stamp set.  Yes, it has an elephant in it and that is part of the appeal, but not the only one.  The critters are front and back images and I can think of a dozen things to do with them.  Then there is the cute little bear with the bees.  It even comes with a honeycomb.

I have decided to make up a bunch of cards with it.  Hopefully similar to the 10 cards 1 kit videos you can find on YouTube.  Except I am not doing a video.    I will keep a running list of the cards so you can link to them from each post.  So check back for updated links....

            Card 1 - Gray Elephant
Card 2 - You are Here
            Card 3 - Back & Front Bear
Card 4 -Hello There Honey Bear
            Card 5 - Yellow Lion
            Card 6 - ?????

It may take me several days to get all of them done.  I hope I can get them all done....

Now about this card, it is the elephant again.  I used the front and back.   I used the circles on the inside of the card.  And stamped a small Happy Birthday in the white circle.  It is just too adorable.  It think the bow makes it girly so I will have to come up with something without a ribbon for one of the others.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   A Gem of a Challenge - Female Birthday w/Sentiment
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
Dies R Us - Anything Goes
   Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments - For The  Girls
   AudSentiments - Birthday

Off to clean my table and start another one.  Chat with you soon.

A Wild Thing

Hello and happy Friday.  I hope everyone has plans for some crafty time this weekend.  I do.  Tomorrow is my craft day with my buddies.  I can't wait.  I have been making up my kits all week.  I have several cards, I just can't wait to work on.  Hopefully, I will get time on Sunday to post some of them.

My Stampin up order came in on Thursday.  I have several new sets to play with.  The first one is the "A Wild Thing".  I looked at the set originally because of the elephant, but after looking at it.  I just fell in love.  There is just so much you can do with it.  I love that there is a front and back view of all three animals and they match, so you can put them back to back.  The only thing I don't like about them, is that the front and backs are on one stamp so if you only want one side, you have to be careful not to get the ink on both.

I have one card made for today and one kit in my pack for tomorrow. And a few more I want to make over the next few weeks/months.

I added an elephant to the inside of the card also.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
   Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
   Crafty Gals - Anything Goes
   Creative Knockouts - Anything Goes

Off to finish these cards and clean off my table.  Have a great afternoon.  Chat with you later.

Easter

Hello again.  Is everyone enjoying the evening?

I have one more Easter card for you.  I still have a couple more to finish but I don't know when I will get them done.  Maybe next year, who knows.

This is another Stampin Up stamp.  I have had it for a number of years.  I think it makes the perfect Easter card.  I just love the bunnies.  The white shape is from Silhouette Online.  Then I just used textured folders on the color stripes on the back.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Craft Challenges - Anything Goes
Simon Says Monday - Trio of Something
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
   Aud Sentiments - Easter + A Sentiment
   Crafty Creations - Anything Goes

This is probably it for the night.  I will chat with you tomorrow.  Have a great evening.

Lettering Delights

Hello again.  Just a quick one before I finish up dinner.

Lettering Delights has this cute little cup characters.  I saw them months ago.  One of them is an Elephant.  I just had to have the set.  I have had coffee cups sitting on the top of my desk since Thanksgiving.  Yesterday, I was looking for something to work on that wouldn't be complicated (I had a migraine).  I decided to make the elephants.  I won't use them until this fall but I will put them back with my football things.

At some point I will make some of the others.

Off to finish dinner.  Chat with you later tonight.  I have one more card from yesterday for you.

Fancy Folds

Hello.  How is everyone doing?  Well, my Spring break is half over.  And in no way is it Spring.  It was windy, cold and snowy today.  The snow didn't stick but still.

After a few errands, I hit my craft room.  I wanted to finish up this card from last night.  The SU Baby Bear has been on my list for months.  I always had something else to do.  Last night I pulled it out of the stack and designed the  card.  Today, I had to get every thing together and put it in a power kit/bag for Saturday's crop.

I am so looking forward to stamping all afternoon and most of the evening Saturday.  It seems like forever since I have gotten together with my buddies.  I have several kits made up with cards you haven't seen, so hopefully Sunday, I will have some new cards for you.

This card is the SU Baby Bear.   Before this set came out, I hated two step cards.  They were impossible to line up and I just wasn't good at them.  After playing at my favorite SU rep's house, I had to have this set.  It has been month and I haven't used it until last night. I didn't want to make a baby card so I went with a birthday card instead.  I thought the red made the bear just pop.

A couple of days ago,  I was looking on pinterest and I ran across a board with fancy folds on it.  This was one of them.  You will see it again.  I like how quick and easy it was to put together but it is different from a normal card.

I am using it in the following cards:
Just Us Girls - CAS (Layers but so clean)
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes
   Craft Challenges - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday - Happy Birthday

Off to get my chicken for dinner in some marinade.  Chat with you soon.  Have a good afternoon.

Happy Easter

Hello and Happy Easter.  I hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter holiday.  My husband and I are just taking it easy and relaxing.  I just took a ham out of the oven and I will make the extras in a little while.

As always, I am trying to finish up some projects.  I always have list and/or a pile of things I want to work on.  I usually have a million tabs opened on my computer.  It just never ends.  Oh well, I should never run out of things to work on.

I didn't make these little treat tags for Easter.  I am just going to use them as a little treat when we have company or when I want to surprise my husband.  The bunny and sentiment came from Jaded Blossom.  I just love all of the says in the set.  I will be using them again really soon.  In fact, I stamped the wrong bunny (the front view) and it is still sitting on my desk, so I need to find a project for him.

I saw the treat tag over on Newton's Nook at Valentine's and I just had to try the tutorial out.  It was so quick and easy to do.  I can't decide whether I want to go ahead and make a few for Christmas.  And then there is football season.  And then I could be Newton on there.  Choices Choices Choices.   I think I will just leave one on my table and I will make them later.

I am going to use the treat tag for the following challenges:
   CAS on Sunday - Easter
   Die Cuttin Divas - Easter
Cut It Up Challenges - Easter
   If You Give a Crafter a Cookie - Easter/Spring
   Brown Sugar Challenges - Easter/Spring

Off to straighten my table.  Chat with you soon.
