From The Heart

It's me again.

I don't know why but it is always the last day of the month before I get my card made for the From The Heart monthly challenge.  This month, it was this cute little fence with flowers and a cat and dog.

Instead of using my copics, I decided to use my spectrum noir markers.  I have just bought these and I don't have a lot of colors, but I made do with what I had.  I am going to have to look for a yellow and blue set next.

I added the pink flower at the bottom to bring out the pink flowers under the fence.

Since I used my spectrum noir markers, I am going to use the card in the spectrum noir challenge.  I used the following markers:  BT8, CG3, GB7, PP3, CR9 and I don't remember which colors I used on the flowers, dog and cat.

I am also going to use this card in the Sketch N Stash #36 challenge.

That is about it for now.  I want to get one more card done but I am running out of time.  Have a great night.

Silhouette Challenges

Hello again.  I have a couple of challenges that I really need to get done before Midnight.  This bag is one of them.  I am going to use it for the Silhouette Challenges.  I don't usually do bags, but I saw this bag at Mother's Day and I just loved it.

When I saw the butterfly shakers, I just knew I was going to put them on the bag.  The Whimsie Doodle little girl is too small, but I am leaving her on there for now.

I am going to use the bag on my new shelves in my craft room.  Hopefully, I will get the shelves moved in here over the next few weeks.  I will post pictures when I get them set up.

Hopefully, I will be back in a little while with card.

Doodlebug

Hello, well I didn't make it outside to the flower bed.  My husband's business partner called and said he was going to stop by for a little while.  I didn't want to be all dirty when he got here so I put it off.  Now I am waiting for a good friend to come over to stamp so I won't get out there this afternoon either.  Oh well, maybe Monday or Tuesday.

I did want to show you all of the great paper I bought from Cherry On Top.  I love this company.  Earlier in the week, I received an email that there was an one day 25% off sale.  I had been wanting the patriotic Doodlebug papers, so I just had to look.  While looking around, I picked up a few more things.  I can't wait to play with them.

I may have to come up with a flag shaker....Hmmmm, something to think about.

Off to play.  Chat with all of you soon.

Butterfly Shaker

Hello.  I hope you Saturday is a sunny as mine.  I am heading outside in just a little while to work in my flower bed.  But I will be back a little later to finish up a card or two.

I didn't do real well on my crafting goals for this week, but I did get some of my projects done.  This was one of them. I started with the butterfly shaker card by Lori Whitlock.  I love Lori Whitlocks patterns.  They cut so good and there is just so much you can do with them.

I cut three butterflies.  The first with really thick chipboard.  It was too thick and I ended up cutting the shape out, but it is my favorite shaker.  The thickness is just right.   The second I used thinner chipboard.  It cut out really well.  The third, I used paper.  When you use paper you have to make several layers (I used 10), but the results are the same.  I will probably use paper from here on out just because the chipboard really makes your blade dull.

I added a texture on the top of my card and then the stripe with a scalloped border.  The happy birthday in the bottom right corner is a stamp from Morning Star

As I said, I love the shaker and will be making more of them.

I am using the card in the following challenges:
   Brown Sugar Challenges - Birthday
   Chocolate Coffee Cards - Embossed
Love To Create - Punches and Dies (scalloped edge)

Have a great day.  Hope to be back later with another project.

Cut It Up

Hello.  Good Friday morning.  I am so looking forward to the weekend.  I am off Saturday so I hope to have some play time.

Today, we have a new challenge over at Cut It Up.  It should be a fun challenge.  The theme is Summer Vacation.   The challenge is being sponsored by two great sites.

Trendy Twine
Prize: Sample package of 3 colors of Twine

ArtFul Delights
Prize: A Card Kit

My sister is on vacation at the beach. It is her favorite place to be.  She loves all things beach and sunny.  I, on the other hand, don't do heat very well.  I do like the beach but I can't handle the heat.
If I was closer to her house, I would have this crabby box waiting on her when she get back but since she is down South and I am up North, I am just going to put it on my mantle for the summer.

The pattern is from SVG Cutting Files.  Their patterns are so easy to convert to studio files and then to put them together.  I added the inner tube as a way to add my touch to it.  It came from Silhouette Online.  As a finishing touch, I added some twine from Trendy Twine.

Hopefully I will have more time after work today to make something else fun.  Have a great day.

My Craft Spot

Hello, one last time tonight.  I completed project 2 & 3.  They were actually the same thing.  I had all of my Christmas and Halloween unmounted Denami Designs' stamps that needed to be put in a DVD case.  I had them in two piles so I counted it twice.

I received one graduation/open house invitation this year and since tomorrow is the seniors' last day of school, I wanted to make a card so I could give it to the young man.  It will be bittersweet to see him graduation.  Even though, he is four years younger than my son, he hung out with my son during football and basketball season.  He just loved hanging with the older guys and being the ball boy.

So far, I only have one challenge that is Graduation related.  I hope I don't find more later.  I really don't need any more Graduation cards.  The challenge is My Craft Spot.

Have a great night.  Hopefully since my house is all straightened, I will have some craft time tomorrow after work.

Project #1

Hello again.  I am back with one project done.

I started these are several weeks ago (maybe even months).  I finished the ones for my family and friends but I haven't had a chance to finish the cards for OWH.  The Love You ones will be for OWH and then I will send the Hello ones to my family and friends.

The Daisy is embossed and then colored.  I made pink, blue, yellow and peach daisies.  I love how these came out.

If you don't hear from me again, have a great night.

Projects

Hello.  I didn't have work today so I spent the day with my husband and just straighten the house.  I got my craft room cleaned and it is ready to work on some cards.

I had several projects started but not finished.  I laid out the projects thinking there would be a few but I was shocked how many.  I have 20 projects started and not finished.  Well not really 20.  A couple are stamps that have been laying around to use and I haven't made the time.  I am determined to get three done today.  And no, I haven't gotten one done yet.

I have started one and I hope to finish it soon.  I also want to do at least one challenge.

Other goals for this week....
   1)  Complete at least one project every day.
   2)   Work on my cards for OWH
   3)   Mail out cards to my family and friends
   4)   Get my nieces and nephew's boxes ready to mail
   5)   Work on organizing my cutting file folder

Lots to do.  So I am getting off of the computer so I can finish my current project.

From The Heart

Hello.  Twice in one day.  I am getting back in the mood.

I wanted to do the From The Heart sketch.  I haven't done one in a while and I just love their sketches and all of the digital stamps.  I have used the Birthday Birdbrain before but I need some birthday cards so I decided to use him again.

Even though, I will probably use this card as a guy birthday card, I added some sparkle.  The washi tape on the back is glittery.  I also used my perler beads again.  This is the last of the blue ones so I needed to make some more.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Get Inky - Washi Tape
From The Heart - Sketch 67
   Die Cutting Divas - Birthday

Now I am going to clean off my craft table.  Chat with you later.

Challenges

Hello and Happy Memorial Day weekend.  I have been in a rut lately.  I want to stamp, but when I get in my craft room nothing looks interesting.  Hopefully tomorrow I will get my craft room cleaned up and that will put me in a better mood.

Before getting ready for work today, I decided to look at some upcoming challenges.  Love To Create had a really cute and easy sketch so I thought I would put together a card.  I have been doing a lot of papercrafting lately and my stamps aren't being used as much.  This set by Stampin' Up is always on my list of stamps to use so I thought I would use it.  I just love how it came out.

I stamped my sentiment right on the pattern paper, which is something I never do, but it looks great on the plaid.  I also used some of my perler beads (I talked about this earlier in the month here) on the top corner.  I even used my Silhouette to come my circles which made the circles quick to make.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
Love To Create - Sketch #116
   Repeat Impressions - Monochromatic
Brown Sugar Challenges - Anything Goes

Hopefully I will be back after work to play some more.  Have a great Sunday everyone.

Patriotic One

Hello. Me, again.

While I was making the boxes, I made a patriotic one.  I am going to put it in my company's coming basket.  That way I will have a few things in it, since it is empty right now.

I used the box from the previous post and added the flag star.  Also from Silhouette Online.

Well off to clean the kitchen and run the dishwasher.  I may or may not be back tonight.  We will just have to wait and see.

Have a great night.

Roll Tide Elephant

Hello.  I hope everyone is having a nice sunny week.

I haven't cut anything in a few days, so I decided to pull out another Elephant.   I am not expecting my son home any time soon, but I like to have a few things waiting on him.

I decided to cut the Elephant box from Silhouette Online.  I wasn't sure how it would come out, but I just loved it.  It was easy to put together.  I added some Alabama "A"'s and an Alabama sticker on the top of the box.

I made one for my husband also.  He thought it came out really good.

Have a great evening and I will be back in a little while with something else.

Whimsie Doodles

I am behind on some of my challenges.  I don't even have a current list.  So today, I decided to make a new list.  Imagine my surprise, when I got to Whimsie Doodles and I had won the April challenge.   Thank you so much.  It just made my day.

Have a great evening.

Cut It Up

Hello.  I hope everyone has a great start to the weekend.  I am working tomorrow but I am off Sunday.  I plan on working in the flower bed if it isn't raining.

It is time for another Cut It Up Challenge.   In honor of National Bicycle Month, the theme is, you guessed it, bicycles.  It should be a great challenge.  I can't wait to see what every one comes up with.  The challenge is sponsored by The Robin's Nest and Fleurette Bloom.  Two great prizes.

I used the bicycle box card by Lori Whitlock.  I added the Miss You message and I am going to put them in my OWH box.

I hope to see everyone over at Cut It Up with a card/project for the challenge.  Just remember that is needs to have a die cut on it some where.

Have a great weekend.

Winner

Hello.   I haven't won any challenges in a while.  It doesn't help that I haven't entered a lot but today, I was looking around the web and I discovered that I won the Anything Goes challenge at Meljen's Designs.  As you know this is one of my favorite digital companies.  I can't wait to pick out two images.  Thank you for picking my card.

Favorites of the Month

Hello.  I am late sending this in.  The first few days have been busy around here.  Plus I sent Friday and Saturday of this week at my son's house.  It was great spending the time with him.

This was another slow month for posting but summer vacation is right around the corner and I will have more time.  I don't know how much I will post this week, because I really want to get my flower bed cleaned out.

I didn't win any challenges this month but I didn't enter as many as usual.  I hope that changes.

Now for my top 5 for April:

I made the bunny in gray and I loved both of these.

Well that is the month of April.  This year is going by so fast.  I hope everyone is having nice weather and that they are finding the time to enjoy it.

I am working today but hopefully I will have time to play afterwards.  To all the Moms out there.  Have a wonderful Mother's Day.  I hope you get to spend it with your family.

Mother's Day #2

Hello again.  This is the other Mother's Day card that I really wanted to make.  It is a fairly new pattern over at Silhouette Online.  I added the 3D flowers, which are also new at Silhouette Online.

I just love this card.  I will probably use it for Father's Day and make it more masculine.  No flowers.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
Get Inky - Flowers For Mother's Day
My Craft Spot by Kimberly - Mother's Day
   Love To Create - Flowers

Well I am off to fold some clothes and clean off my craft table.  Have a great night.

Mother's Day

Hello.  I wanted to make a couple of Mother's Day cards.  I have a great Mother and Mother-in-law.  They both deserve a little recognition.  I don't know what I would do without both of them.

The problem was that I had several Mother's Day cards, I wanted to make.  So as always, I have more cards than I need.  That just means that there are some other Mothers out there, that will get a card.

I don't know where I got the pattern for this card.  I love how it came out.  Just a simple card, but still a great one.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Creative Cutting - Mother's Day cards
Craftin Desert Divas - Mother's Day

I will be back in a few with another card.

Meljen's

Hello.  It is the early morning hours here and I can't sleep so I thought I would play with the new freebie over at Meljen's.  She is running a little mini challenge on facebook.  I missed it last weekend.  There just wasn't enough time.

When I saw the freebie this week was one of her cupcakes, I knew I was going to make some birthday cards.  And it was a great time for them, because I am running low.  Plus I need to make some for my OWH box.

I even added a couple of my new beads.  I am not sure about the ribbon.  It may come off of the others.

I decided to combine some challenges.  It was makes me feel better when I can get more than one challenge out of a card.  Here are the challenges I am using the card for:
   Meljen's - Mini Weekend Challenge
   Meljen's - Anything Goes Challenge
Brown Sugar Challenges - 2 Patterned Papers
Curtain Call - Pretty & Pink
   Sketch Saturday - Sketch 308

I really enjoyed making this card.  I hope you go over to Meljen's and pick up the freebie.   I am going to finish the rest of these cards before I go to work tomorrow.  Have a great night.

Homemade gems/pearls

Hello.  I saw this on Meljen's facebook page and I just had to try it.

Use start with perler beads and you end up with gems/pearls for your cards.  Here is how to make them.  So easy.

Place the beads on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.  The holes in the beads should be up.  Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.  And look at what you get.  Perfect little embellishments.  I can't wait for them to cool so I can put some on some cards.

Well I am off to see what else I can get done.  Talk to you all later.

Cut It Up

Hello and Happy Friday.  I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.  I am.  I am working but hopefully I will have some down time.

Today, it is time for another Cut It Up challenge.  I am looking forward to this one.  It is Mother's Day.  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.  I love sending Mother's Day cards, my Mother and MIL usually get more than one.  This year will be no different.

The sponsor this time is As Cute As a Button.  The winner will get a $20 gift coupon code.  You can get all kinds of goodies with it.

I made a Mom shaped card from Silhouette Online.  I wasn't sure how this card would come out but I looked the look.  I am sure my Mother will love it.
