DeeDee Design

Hello.  I can't believe I haven't posted anything since Wednesday.  I have been working on a few things but I guess I haven't finished anything.

DeeDee's Design's Progressive Challenge ends tonight and I wanted to get a card done for it.  This is what I came up with.  The tree trunk is just a stripe of paper, then textured.  The branches came off of Silhouette Online.   I also used my cloud texture folder and put clouds on the background. It is hard to see them on there, but they are there.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   DeeDee Designs - Progressive Challenge
   Crafty Sentiments - Animals
   JellyPark Friday - Pets/Animals
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenges - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
   Sweet Stampin - Embossing
Silhouette Challenges - Create a Shadow

I don't know if I will be back tonight or not.  If not, have a great evening.

Meljen's Designs

Good Afternoon.  I have been busy this morning working on a project for my freezer door.  I will post it in a little while.

I almost missed the As You Like It challenge.  I love this challenge because it is always some kind of favorite.  This week, it is your 2 favorite embellishments.  Mine would have to be ribbon and gems.  I love using the gems on the Meljen's Designs because she usually has doodles and gems work perfectly as an accent.

This little cowgirl reminds me of a friend who rides in a rodeo.  I know she doesn't ride a stick horse, but it still reminded me of her.  I colored the shirt black/gray because she always wears black in the shows. I made an extra one for my niece.

The rest is blue because you can't have a cowgirl without denim.  Plus next to pink, blue is one of my favorite colors to use.

I am going to use this in the following challenges:
As You Like It - 2 Favorite Embellishments
   MilkCoffee Challenges - Stripes
   Sketch Saturday - Sketch #324
Clear It Out - Favorite Color
Sweet Stampin - Cowboys and/or Cowgirls
Ave 613 Create - Anything Goes
Crafting When You Can - Oodles of Doodling

I will be back in a little while with my other project.

My Niece

Good Morning.  My youngest niece is attending Auburn University.  She is the New Member Educator for the sorority ZTA this year.  She is so excited and happy.  I am so glad that she is having such a wonderful experience.

Last night, I was thinking about her while I was playing around on my computer.  I decided to make her some ZTA signs.  I am sure she will be surprised when she gets her care package.  The biggest one is personalized with her name and the year.

This is what makes my Silhouette Cameo so much fun.  You can make the simplest things or the more detailed things.  All of it is so easy.

I hope these make her smile because I sure did smile making them for her.

I am going to use this in the Silhouette Challenges - Create a shadow challenge.

Chat with you later...Have a good one....

Doggie

Hello.  This is probably the last one for the night.  I wanted to make something for the PINspirational challenge.  It was a cat or dog theme.  Who doesn't love cats and dogs.

I hate that some of the glue shows up on the picture, but it reminders me of a normal little doggie that is always dirty.  Any suggestions on his eyes?  What should I do?  My husband suggest making the eye on the black side white, but I don't think that would look right.  If you have any suggestions, please leave me a comment.

I am going to drop this off to a friend at work tomorrow.  She loves dalmatians.

I am using it for the following challenges:
PINspirational - Photo Inspired (Cat or Dog)
Craft Spot by Kimberly - Bags & Boxes
   Penny's Challenges - Christmas, Children & Critters
   Wednesday's Inspirations - Anything Goes

Have a great night.

Back To School

Hello again.  Today is craft day.  I hopefully will have lots of time today to just play around.  Last week, I started organizing my cutting files.  I have so many and I could never find anything when I wanted it so now I am organizing.

One of the first folders, I organized was KaDoodle Bug.  I just love her files.  I found this little owl and I knew I just had to make him.  I shrunk him down really small so he would fit on a card.  It made working with some of the pieces challenging but he was worth it.

I only cut one and now I want more, but I think I will save him for next year.

I am going to use him in the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - Back To School
Simon Says Wednesday - Back To School
Cute Card Thursday - Back To School
Digital Delights - Back To School
3 Girl Jam - Back To School
Di's Digital Challenge - Back To School
Craftin Desert Divas - Back To School
Craft Spot by Kimberly - Back To School

That's it for now.  Have a good one.

Butterflies

Hello.  Happy Monday.  I hope every one has a great start to the work week.  This is my last week off.  School starts back next Tuesday.

I made these  cards yesterday and I forgot to post them.  I love butterflies so when this showed up under new designs at Silhouette Online a couple of weeks ago, I just had to have it.  There are several designs similar to this and I have bought several so you will be seeing this layout again.

The butterflies were not suppose to be made 3D but I thought it added to the card.  I took my R22 copic marker and using the chisel end to make streaks.  Then I added pearls to the middles.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Glitter N Sparkle - Butterflies
Paper Take Weekly - To Die For
   Ave 613 Create - Anything Goes #86
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
Creatalicious - Up to the Sky

Have a great day and I will be back later.

From The Heart

I started this card thinking the challenge at From The Heart ended at midnight.  I was half way finished when I realized I had 25 minutes.  Then my computer started acting up.  Needless to say, I didn't make the  challenge.  That is okay.  I slowed down and I am entering it into the monthly challenge

I think this piggie is so cute.  I will be using it again later in the year.  I am just not ready to work on Fall cards.

Now I am off to clean my table.  Have a great night.

Meljen's Mini Challenge

Hello.  I hope every one had a great weekend.

I haven't played a lot this weekend, but I did print out Meljen's Mini Weekend Challenge.  I love doing her challenges.  I don't always have time to do the mini challenges but I always try.

This week the image is a penguin.  Instead of making a winter card, I decided to make a birthday card.  I will use it during the winter months.  My niece will love him.

I used the sketch from Sugar Pea.  My background strips are not the right size but I had trouble getting every thing to fit.  I let the banner hang off the side.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Sugar Pea - Sketch SPDSS09
   Meljen Mini Challenge
   Meljen's - Hang Off
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Pattern - Anything Goes

Have a great night.

Product Review

Hello.  I hope every one is having a great weekend.  It is hot and humid here, but that just means I need to stay inside.  More craft time.

I have never done a product review on here, but I thought I would drop a quick note about the Xacto Corner Rounder Punch.  A couple of weeks ago, I misplaced my corner rounder.  I looked all over the place for it.  I knew it would turn up so I didn't want to buy another one.  I finally picked up the Xacto one from Wal-Mart.  It was inexpensive and I thought it would work until I found my good one.

The Xacto punch is light weight and just cuts so well.  Even though, I found my good one, I find myself using the Xacto punch.  It just works really well.

That is it for now.  Have a great afternoon.

Similar but Different

Hello.  I know it has been a few days.  School is about to start back and that means work for me.  I didn't get all of my projects done, so I have been working on them.  Plus I just needed to step away for a few days.

I am working my second job this weekend but I hope to have some time to play.  I saw this card several days ago and I knew I wanted to make a version of it.  I think the original card is so classy and I thought it would be a great card for some of the males on my card list.

I couldn't find the sailboat I had in mine.  I looked through my library several times but couldn't find it.  So I used this one instead.  I think it came out really good.

The original card had polka dots behind the boat but I added a swirl texture.  I thought it looked more like the water.  I also added to line of small circles.

I hope you like my version of the card.

I am going to use this card for the  following challenges:
   Creative Card Crew - Embossing
Pile It On - By The Sea / Beach
   Curtain Call - Tropical Trip
Clear It Out - Anything Goes
   Fan-Tastic Tuesday - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenges - Kraft Paper
   Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes
Ave 613 Create - Anything Goes
Die-Cutting Divas - Inspired by Another Crafter

I off to go to bed.  Hopefully I will get some sleep.  Have a great night/day.

Cut It Up

Hello on this wonderful Friday.  Today is the day for the new Cut It Up challenge.  The theme is Grandparent's Day.  It was picked as a remainder and it worked for me.  I will have my cards finished.  Now to just remember to mail them. When is Grandparent's Day?  It is September 7th.

As you can tell I did two cards.  Both sets of my Grandparents are dead and so are my husband's.  But my son has some great Grandparents and that is what the cards are for.  I even made a card for his adopted Grandmother.

I made the patriotic one for my husband's parents.   My father-in-law is retired military and I thought this little puppy was so cute.  I am sure both of them will love this card.  The little girl will go to my parents and my son's adopted Grandmother (it is my sister-in-law's mother).

I saw this little girl on another challenge and I fell in love with her.  I went and brought her just as soon as I saw here.  She is from Digital Delights.  You will be seeing her again.  Actually the dog is also from Digital Delights.

I forgot to mention the sponsor this week.  There are two.  As Cute As A Button and Die-Versions.  Two great prizes so make sure you go over and enter the challenge.

I hope to see you over at Cut It Up.    Have a great weekend.

Spots & Dots

Hello.  Last one for tonight.  I really wanted to make a card for the Papertake Weekly Challenge.  The theme was Spots and Dots.  I didn't have anything in mind, so I started looking  I ran across this strawberry.  I don't even remember buying it, but  I really like it.

It was set up as a tag but I enlarged it to make a regular size card.  I put a gem in the middle of the flower.  My  sister didn't like the red background.  She said it had too much red, but I like it.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Spots & Dots
   Simon Says Wednesday - Summer
Crafting By Design - Anything Goes
   Treasured Times - Anything Goes

Have a great evening.

Tuesday Throwdown

Happy Monday.  I am determined to play some this week.  I have some house work to do but I want to get some things off of my craft list.  So this week, will be 'HAVE FUN' week.

I really wanted to make a card using the Tuesday Throwdown sketch.  I have a stack of images sitting here that I have printed and not used so I picked them up and went through them.  I came across this cute little girl.  She is from Whimsie Doodles.  I had three of them and I thought I would go ahead and make a couple of Christmas cards.

My sister is going to think I am crazy.  She was just complaining about how hot is was.  So I know she hasn't been thijnking of Christmas.

I added some glitter to the top of the hat.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Tuesday Throwdown - Sketch #209
Simon Says Monday - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenges - Anything Goes
Sweet Stampin - Christmas In August
Ave 613 Create - Anything Goes

Have a great afternoon and hopefully I will be back with some thing later.

Buzzz

Hello.  Hope everyone is having a good day.  It has been a nice day here in Michigan.

I decided to use some of my bees to make a card.  I have so many of them.  Summer will be over soon and it will be too late to use them.

I used set of bees that I found in the Silhouette store.  I had some trouble cutting out the black part but I finally got all of them cut.

I am using this card in the following challenges:
Mike Coffee Challenges - 2 or more Dies
   Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - Black and one other Color
   Penny's Challenge - Anything Goes

Lori Whitlock

Hello.  I haven't felt like making any thing the last few days.  So I cleaned up my craft room so it would be ready when my creative juices started flowing.  Lori Whitlock's link party ended today and I really wanted to make some thing for it.  I saw her new step cards and I just had to make one.

I used the apple one since it was back to School them.  I added an image from Whimsie Doodles.  The red apples on the side are also paper from Lori Whitlock.  It didn't print as bold as I wanted but it matched the rest of the card perfectly.

The best part about all of the back to school themes is I get to use my apples.  My kitchen is accented in apples and I think this green apple background is one of my favorites.  I love the randomly placed red apples.

I lowered the girl and the apple so the red apple would show on the background.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
Lori Whitlock - Back To School
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
As You Like It Challenges - Favorite Paper & Why
Ave 613 Create - Anything Goes
   Marker Pop - Anything Goes
Pile It On - Primary Colors (Red, Green & Blue)

Have a great evening.

Whimsie Doodle & Back To School

Hello.  Are you enjoying your day?  It has been a nice day here.  Not hot at all.

I don't normally do back to school cards.  However, I have a niece who is in college learning to become a teacher.  I like to send her a card every year.  She might even get more than one this year.

This is School Lizzie by Whimsie Doodles.  I tried to make her blonde but it was too yellowish so I tried to tone it down some.  I don't know that I succeed.  I will try again on the second card.

The card itself can be found on Silhouette Online.  I made the border on the back of the card red instead of green and added the white background (for writing my message) and a small apple.  It looked bare across the top so I added a button.

I am going to use this card for the following challenges:
   Eureka - Add Buttons
Artistic Inspiration - Back To School
Paper Take Weekly - Anything Goes
   Penny's Challenge - Anything Goes
   Crafty Girls - Anything Goes

I hope you enjoy the card.  I need to clean off my craft table so I don't know if I will be back tonight or not.  Have a good one.

   Meljen's Mini Weekend Challenge
   Glitter N Sparkle - Glitter N Sparkle
   Treasured Times - Anything Goes
Craftin Desert Divas - Sketch #37

Cut It Up Challenges

Hello.  Happy Friday.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.  The nice summer days are going to disappear before I know it.  I won't complain over the fall days.  I love them more that summer days.

It is time for another Cut It Up Challenge.  This is a great one.  It is a card inspired by a song.  At first, the only thing I could come up with was Frosty the Snowman.  And I didn't want to work on winter cards in the middle of summer.  So I kept thinking.  After watching the CMA Music Festival, I finally came up with a song.  Honeybee by Blake Shelton.  I even played the song while I was making the card.

Maybe that is why I had so much trouble making the card.  First, I traced every thing so I could cut it on my Silhouette.  I duplicated it, thinking I could get four complete sets on a white 12 X 12.  I was going to color the pieces .  Sounds right?  Then why did I put a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 on my cutting mat?  Luckily, it didn't mess up the mat.  Finally got it cut and it was time to put Miss Kitty together.
Wait....I only have one flower.  I guess, I will cut some more.

I did Miss Kitty's head first.  Put a small light blue shadow.  Colored the area for her eyes and nose.  Put her whiskers on.  No....the glue didn't dry clear.  It was suppose too.  It has in the past.  Oh well, I will take one of the extra heads and redo it.  Can't get the head to come off so I decided to just glue one on top of the other.  In trying to get the head off, I torn the area for the nose.  Now it looks bad.  I know I will make it a 3d nose with some foam tape.

Finally got every thing in place.  I wanted to add some marks with my white gel pen.  It isn't working.  I love my white gel pen but I really feel like they don't hold up.  I don't know if I will buy another one.  I will have to think about it.  I use it alot but the tip always gets stuck before the ink is gone.  What does every one else use?  Is there a better choice?  I used my silver marker instead.

After that the card went together pretty good.  I forgot to mention that this was one of the free files from the SVG Cutting Files/Jaded Blossom Hello Kitty blog hop.

The challenge this week is sponsored by Fleurette Bloom.  The winner will get a $10 gift card.

I can't wait to see what every one comes up with, so make sure you go over to Cut It Up Challenges

Enjoy your weekend and I hope you get some time to just relax.

What I am working on

Hello.  I hope everyone had a great day.  It was another one of those so so days.  I need to make a few new cards and I am going to work on that next.  However, at the beginning of the week, I set out 3 unfinished projects that I wanted to get done this week.  This is the second one.  I am going to try to finish the other one tomorrow. I also want to mail out some cards to family and friends.

I started this card several weeks ago (here is the original post).  As always I made one and never finished the rest.  Now they are done finally.  It has been so long that I couldn't remember the colors I used.  It took me a little while before I figured it out.  So each card is different.

One more project to do.  Chat with you later.

Meljen's Designs

Hello again.  I posted my cards backwards.  I made this one first, but then forgot about it.

It was the Weekend Mini Challenge over at Meljen's Designs' facebook page.  I don't get time to enter these often.  But I do like to try.  I started this while my In-Laws were here and then I forgot.

I kept the card simple.  Adding some embossing on the back card and then my sentiment.  I also used some twine.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
   Meljen's Designs facebook challenge
   Meljen's Designs - Cardstock only
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
   Scribble & Scraps - #24 Anything Goes
   A Gem of a Challenge - Embossing
Word Art Wednesday - #143 Anything Goes

Have a great afternoon.

Happy Monday

Happy Happy Monday.  I hope everyone is having a great start to the work week.  I only have a few short weeks and school will start back and that means going back to work.  I will miss the days at home but it will be nice to go back.

The county fair ended this weekend.  It is a big deal around here.  Lots of 4Hers and just walking around and visiting with friends.  The daugher of a close friend is just getting into the fair and she had a great year, so I thought I would make her a treat box.  She only does chickens right now so she is getting this cute chicken box from Silhouette Online.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Clear It Out - Yellows
Craft Spot by Kimberly - For The Little Girls
   Creatlicious - Monochromatic

Have a great day.

Whimsie Doodles

Hello again.  This was a really quick card.  I didn't have a lot of time, but I had this little fellow and I wanted to do something with him.

The little guy is from Whimsie Doodles.  The background paper is from Lori Whitlock.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Eureka Stamps - Swimming
   Love to Create - Summer
   Repeat Impressions - Sketch J2314
   Wednesday Inspiration - Summer Time

Have a great evening.
