Valentine Heart

Hello again.  Back with a real quick Valentine's Day card, but one that I just adore.

I just love this style card.  I made the birthday one last year and it was a favorite.  And now the Valentine's Day card is being added to my favorites list.  I added the small heart.  The I love you sentiment is from the Always And Forever set by My Craft Spot by Kimberly.  The small heart is an old one from Hero Arts.

I am using this in the following challenges:
Clear It Out - Hearts and Flowers
Simon Says Wednesday - Have a Heart
   Brown Sugar Challenges - Valentines
Dies R Us - Embossing Folders
   Dream Valley - Anything Goes
3 Girls Jam - Anything Goes

Have a great night.

Prisoner

Hello. Happy Monday.  We didn't get the snow that they were predicting and I guess that was a good thing.  Even though, I really want us to have at least one good snow this winter.  We are running out of time.  Thankfully we didn't get the 3 feet of snow that some got.  If you did, I feel for you and I hope you are doing ok.

My nephew is a State Trooper in South Carolina.  I am always looking for policemen type stamps, I can get and use for him.  I saw this set from Doodle Pantry and I knew I had to have it.  I used yellow and black as my colors so it doesn't look like your typical Valentine's Day card.  But the corny sentiment on the inside will make it a good Valentine's Day card.  (The sentiment is " Happy to be a prisoner of your love!)  I had thought about adding a yellow heart to the front, but there really isn't room for one.

Both of the pattern papers are digital papers.  I don't use digital paper often, but I thought this matched the colors well.

I did finish the inside.  I used a black layer then another white one and put the sentiment on it.

I am using it for the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - For The Boys
   Cheerful Sketches - Sketch #20
Crafty Gals - For The Boys
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes
Digital Sweet Challenges - Favorite Shape (a2)
   Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Hopefully I will be back later with another card.  Have agood one.

Cut It Up Challenges

Hello and Good Friday morning.  It is time for another Cut It Up Challenge.

This is one of my favorite challenges for two reasons.  The theme this time is National Braille Literacy Month.  You must use embossing of some kind on your project and that makes it a great   challenge to me.  I love embossing folders.  It will be great to see what you come up with.

The second reason this is a favorite challenge is that it is being sponsored by one of my favorite companies.  MELJEN'S DESIGNS  The winner will get four non-colored images.  What a great prize.

Make sure you go over and enter the challenge.

Have a great day.

Snowman again

Hello again.  One last one for tonight.  A cute little snowman with a shy bear peeking around it.  It is by Squigglefly and just a cute image.

I don't normally use teal but I was looking for a different color.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Your Next Stamp - Sketch #5
   Curtain Call - Soft Scraf
Squigglefly - It's Snow Much Fun
   Simon Says Monday - Winter
   Tuesday Throwdown - Embossing
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Have a great evening.

Bugaboo

Hello.  How are all of you this evening? Things are cold and settling down to normal after a busy holiday season.  I am getting in the mood to work on some Valentine's Day projects so you will probably be seeing lots of hearts.

But before I get started, I wanted to make at least one card for the 5th Birthday Celebration over at Bugaboo.  They are doing a challenge every day.  I made this one card to cover several of the days (Saturday - Tuesday).

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - 5th Birthday Celebration
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
   Eureka - Red
   Marker Pop - Anything Goes
Paper Take Weekly - 3 Shapes
     (circle, oval & square)
   Cute Card Thursday - Colorful

Have a great evening.

Snowman

Hello.  I thought I would be here sooner than this.  I have been working on some bigger projects and hopefully you will get to see them later (much later).

The other day, I printed out the monthly progressive image from From The Heart.  This month, it is this cute little snowman.  Just too cute.  Along with the new monthly image, I used several other new things.

I got a new Big Shot for Christmas.  My old one somehow quit cutting and embossing in the middle.  I bought a new cutting mat and that didn't fix the problem.  So I put a new one on my Christmas list.  Thank you to my in-laws for getting me a new one.

I also am still playing with my new Chameleon markers.  It will take me a while before I get good at using them.  I really need to sit down and watch a couple of tutorials.  I love the colors

The let it snow sentiment is also new.  It is from My Craft Spot.   She is closing and I am so going to miss her.  She has/had some great sets.  Also on the inside is a small snowflake that I cut using my new cut & emboss snowflake set by Momenta.  Oh, and I almost forgot I put some sparkle on the snow with my new Wink of Stella brush (my new favorite tool).

I am going to use the card in the following challenges:
Fab N Funky - Something New
Paper Take Weekly - Something New
   Pinspirational - Snow
   Tuesday Throwdown - Sketch #227
   Suzy Bee's - Anything Goes + Sparkle
Crafting By Design - Build a Snowman
From The Heart - Monthly Challenge

Hopefully I will be back later.

From The Heart Birthday

Hello once again.  I am still working on birthday cards.  Today has really helped me get some done.

This card used the Mice Surprise set from From The Heart.  I didn't use the small mouse since I was looking for a thinner image.

It took me a while to decide what color to use.  I have a whole box of pink background papers but I always have trouble matching the different shades.  I think I am close this time.

The circle was going to be pink but it was just too much pink.  The texture on the circle is a Stampin' Up folder by Sizzix.  I think it is one of my favorite folders.  I just like who it looks on solid papers.

I have been trying to finish up the inside of the card as I make them.  No more leaving them for later.  I have also been carrying the theme over to the inside also.  So this card has a bunch of balloons in the corner.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
From The Heart - Sketch #93
Sugar Pea Designs - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Birthday for a Girl
   Glitter N Sparkle - Cute
613 Ave Create - Anything Goes
   Creative Cutting - Anything Goes
As You Like It - Favorite Embossing Folder
   Crafty Sentiments - Girly

This may be my last one for tonight.  But I am off tomorrow so hopefully I will get lots of play time.
Have a great evening.

Similar to the Last One

Hello again.  I have one more quick card.  It is just like the last one but I used hearts instead.  I think it makes a great Valentine's Day card.  I used the sentiment from My Craft Spot by Kimberly.

I am using it in the following challenges:
   Clear It Out - Pink
   Crafty Gals - Sweet Hearts
In The Pink - Anything Goes
   Cupcake Inspiration - Hearts
Wags N Whiskers - Anything Goes

I am off to fold some clothes.  Hopefully I will be back before I have to cook dinner.

Birthday Cards

Hello.  I can't believe it is the 18th already.  I have only had 7 post this month.  I will try to change that over the next few days.

I am still working on birthday cards.  I really need to get some extra ones done, so all I need to do is address the envelopes.

Along those lines, I need some masculine cards.   I thought this card would work.  I didn't tie a bow just a knot so it wouldn't look girly.  I even took some of the stars and colored them blue and put them inside the card.  Stamped the message and they are finished.

I am using it for the following challenges:
Craftin Desert Divas - Blue and White
Die Cuttin Divas - Photo Inspired - Blues
Crafty Creations - Brrr The Blues
   Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Chocolate Coffee Cards - No Circles
Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes

I will be back later with a similar card.  Have a good afternoon.

Birthday

Hello.  Just a quick card for tonight.  I am low on birthday cards and several of the men in the family have birthdays coming up so I decided to make an elephant card.  The Alabama fans will love it.

The elephant circle is from Bugaboo.  I printed and cut it in red and white, so I could layer it.  Then it was ready for the Catch The Bug sketch. I received this cute ribbon for Christmas and I just had to use it.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Stella Sketch
Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes + New
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
   Wednesday Inspiration - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday - It's a Guy Thing

Have a great evening.

Christmas Elf

Hello.  My sister didn't get to make a lot of Christmas projects this year.  She was just too busy, so we decided today to make this little elf that she fell in love with.

For some unknown reason, I cut out five of them.  So I ended up making two like my sister's and then two candy bar boxes.  The fifth elf will be saved for this coming Christmas.  Maybe I will come up with something else for him.

I didn't put candy in either one since I am boxing them up for twelve months.

I am going to use them in the following challenges:
SVG Cutting Files - Anything Christmas
Crafting When You Can - Anything But A Card
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes

I am off to read some before bedtime.  Have a good evening.

Cut It Up

Hello and good Friday morning.   This was my first week back to work after Christmas break and it was a busy week.  I am looking forward to the weekend.

We have a new challenge over at Cut It Up.  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.  The theme is I Have a Dream.  Your project needs to be black and white.

This was hard for me.  I like colors.  My copic markers are my favorite things.  So it took me awhile but then I remembered that Bird's Cards has some great templates, so I went surfing.  If you haven't been to her site, check it out.  I am sure you will find something.

I thought I had a small snowflake punch, but this Punch Bunch punch was the smallest one, I could find.  I punched out three and then pulled out my white gel pen.  The big snowflake is from Silhouette Online.  A favorite of mine, I use it a lot.  I just use the font feature on my Silhouette and ut out the words.  Once the card was all glued together, I added three gems in the snowflakes in the sky.

We have two great sponsors for this challenge.  The first is Cute As A Button.  They will be giving a $20 gift card to the lucky winner.
Secondly, Designs on Cloud 9 will also be giving a $10 gift card to the winner.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with, so please join us over at Cut It Up.  Just remember you need to use a die cut somewhere on your project.

Have a great day.

One More

Hello again.  One more and I am calling it a night.  While I had the From The Heart Snowman Medley open in my Designer Studio, I decided to make a card using the whole set.  I really like this set.  You will probably see it again before the winter is over.

I used the Sketch Saturday sketch.  Their sketches are some of the best sketches.  They are usually fairly simple so the card doesn't get to cluttered.  The background paper is out of the norm for me.  I don't usually use the flashy paper but I thought it would be perfect for this card.

I am going to use the card for some of the something new something old challenges.  I used my trusty copic markers (something old) and then the digital stamp is new.  Plus I also just received a Wink of Stella Brush Pen in clear.  These are amazing.  You just brush on a little glitter.  I only have the clear, but I will keep one from now on.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges.
   Sketch Saturday - Sketch #342
ABC Challenge - A is for Anything Goes
   Crafty Sentiments - New Beginnings
Simon Says Monday - Something New
Simon Says Wednesday - Something New
Cute Card Thursday - What's New
A Gem of a Challenge - Something New
   Crafty Calendar - What's New

As I said this is it for the night.  Chat with you tomorrow.

Snowman Shaker

Hello. Here in the Northern United States, we are in a deep freeze.  With the wind chill, it was -20 today.  Cold cold cold.  However, it did mean that school was closed today, so I didn't have to work.

My sister saw this cute little shaker card on the From The Heart facebook page, so we decided to make our version of it.  From The Heart has these cute little medley sets.  So far, she has made a spring and fall one, and now a winter one.  Hopefully summer will come out in a few months.

I used the largest square to make the card.  I didn't want the card to be too thick so I only put one layer of foam tape.  It made my shaker a little awkward, but it does work.  I also used one of my skinny  embossing folders to put snowflakes down the side.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
   Suzy Bee's - Anything Goes
Through The Craft room Door - Anything Goes
   Curtain Call - Winter Wonder
Glitter N Sparkle - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
   Eureka - Snowman or Snowflake
Love To Create - Anything Goes

Hopefully I will be back later.  But just in case, have a good evening.

Snowman

Hello.  I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the weekend.  It is my last weekend before I go back to work.   I hope to get all of my Christmas decorations put away tomorrow and then finish the day just relaxing and enjoying my craft room.

I only got one card made today.  I used a Bugaboo snowman and lots of pattern paper.  Since my snowflake punches were still on my table, I cut one of each and then put glitter on the top. I was afraid it had too much blue but I liked how it came out.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Bingo (polka dots, snowflakes, & glitter)
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
   Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
   Crazy Hazelnut's - Anything Goes
The Crafting Cafe - Lots of Layer
Your Next Stamp - Sketch #4

Have a great night.

2014 In Review

Hello.  I thought I would spend the last few minutes of 2014 reviewing some of my cards.

I will start with January 2014.  It was a good month and it is really hard to pick one card as my favorite.  These are the three top ones....
January 2014

February 2014
It was even hard to pick a favorite.

March 2014
I was able to narrow down March to two cards....
April 2014
May 2014
June 2014
June was my busiest month.  Summer break started mid-June and it was so nice to have some time off.  I also won quite a few challenges.  Maybe that was why I had so much trouble picking my favorite card.

July 2014
August 2014
September 2014
In September, I was picked to be a two month Guest Designer for Imagine That by Kris.  It was just so much fun.
October 2014
November 2014
December 2014

Well that is it for 2014.  Sorry about the long post.  I just couldn't pick one card each month.

The challenges, at Artistic Inspirations and Clear It Out, this week are to pick your favorite project from 2014.  As you can tell I couldn't pick just one.

Happy New Year.  I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year.
