Imagine That

Hello.  Once again, I am running behind on getting my Imagine That challenge done.  I don't know where the month went.

I decided to go a different route with this challenge.  It came with two images and almost every one is using the Jenn and Friends image.  I thought I would use the 'warm hugs' image.  I thought it would be great to send just as a 'just because' card.

I used the Love to Create sketch for the card.  It was the perfect background for this circle image.  I put washi tape across the top and added two gems to the circle for hearts.  That means I can use it for the Bling It Up challenge at Glitter N Sparkle.

I almost forgot about the Anything goes challenge at Eureka Stamps.

Have a great weekend.

Meljen & Repeat

Hello.  Still cold and snowy here.

I decided to  work on my Meljen's Designs' challenge tonight.  The challenge is 'Not Just Black & White', use black and white and one other color.  I knew when I saw this that I was going to use one of Meljen's penguins.  I picked 'penguins cocoa'.  I was going to use pink for the heart and let that be my other color but when I colored the hat, it looked orange, so that became my color.

I also decided to use the Repeat Impressions' sketch (J2214) for this card.
I flipped it around and made it a long card instead.  I added a small Stampin' Up clear heart button to the top corner with some orange and white twine.

I just noticed that Catch The Bug's challenge is penguins, so I will use him there, too.

It needs a little 'miss you' or 'hello' on the front.  I will have to think about that.

Off to finish a few more.  See all of you later.  Have a good evening.

Action Wobble

Hello on this cold evening.  It is currently 1 degree Fahrenheit, with wind chill it feels like eighteen below.  Cold, cold, cold.  But it is the perfect time to play in my craft room.

I purchased the turtle set from Treasure Box a couple of weeks ago.  I traced it and cut it without resizing it.  I knew it would be big but I didn't think it would be as big as it was.  Even big, he is just adorable.

I cut out three of them.  When I do the other two, I want to change the color on the back of the words.  I don't know what color I am going to change it to, but I don't like the teal.   Maybe black or dark green or blue.

I bought wobbles almost two years ago and I have never used them.  I didn't to put one on the back of the turtle's head.  It is just so cute, wobbling.  I am going to need more wobbles.  I am going to enter the card into the Action Wobble challenges.  The theme is Unique Pets.  I think a turtle with ear muffs will qualify.

Off to put the other two together.  I will try to come back tonight with something new.

Incy Wincy Designs

Hello everyone.  Where did last week go?  It was such a fast week.

It is time for another Incy Wincy Designs' Challenge.  This week, the theme is ribbon and pearls.  That is an easy one for me.  I like working with both.

The challenge is sponsored by Lacy Sunshine and Iva Nova ChestLacy Sunshine will be giving three digital images to the winner and Iva Nova Chest has a goody bag full of charms.  Both prizes are great.  So make sure you head over and enter a project.

I used one of Lacy Sunshine's digital images on my card.  I thought Alice as so cute with the big glasses and the little dress.  It just screamed pink so that is what I went with.  I like the sketch last week from 'From The Heart', so I used it again on this card.

It is so girly.  I wasn't planning on it being so girly.  I am going to include it in my Operation Write Home package.  I hope some one can use it to write home.

Have a great week.

Frosty the Snowman Part 2

Hello on this bright snowy day.  I really need to go outside and snap a picture.  The snow is still falling and it is so pretty.  But bright at the same time.  You look out the window and all you see is white.

I forgot to put a link to Bird's set so I want to make sure to give her credit for the Frosty The Snowman circle.  If you haven't checked out her site, make sure to look around.  She has lots of free cutting files.

It is a perfect day to finish up my Frosty the Snowman tag/card.  I missed the challenge at Twine It Up.  Maybe next time.  I decided to go ahead and make a card.  I took the ribbon on the circle so I could put a ribbon behind it.

The coloring isn't the greatest.  The snowman was so small that it was hard to stay in the lines with my copics.  When I do something small, I wish I had some markers with a super fine tip.  Maybe I will look around see what I can come up with.    Any suggestions?  Please let me know.

It was hard coming up with matching blues.  I have lots of blue paper (it is one of my favorite colors to work with), but I always have trouble matching them.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
From The Heart - Sketch #50
Eureka -  3 Favorite Embellishments (buttons, embossing folders, & ribbons)
   Love To Create - Buttons
   QKR Stampede - Winter Fun

I am off to finish the other cards in this set.  I will back later with something else new.  Have a great afternoon.

Frosty The Snowman

I saw this cute little tag over at Bird's.  I decided to cut him out real quick.  I had just finished cutting him last night when my husband came in with a movie to watch.  So I never finished him.  This morning, I took the time to finish him.  I was going to add twine to it but I don't have any blue.  I don't know how that happened.

If the challenge over at Twine It Up is still open, I am going to enter him into it.  I may make him into a card later tonight after I get off work.  We will see.

Have a great day and stay warm.

Catch The Bug

I started working on the Catch The Bug Birthday Bash sketch yesterday.  I keep getting interrupted.  I finally got it done.  It is bright, but I like the red and yellow together.  I used the Bugaboo 'bdaycake' digital stamp .  I colored it with yellow and added red dots to the icing.

You can't tell from the picture but the yellow piece has been textured with polka dots.

I am going to use the card for the following challenges:

Have a great evening.

Valentine Luminary

I don't know where I got this cutting file but I had it in a folder marked Valentines, so I cut it.  It didn't cut as well some files but it came out ok.  I kind of like the rough hearts.

I am slowly moving away from winter cards.  I still have some I want to make and we still have another month of cold snowy days but after next week, I will probably go on to some thing else.

Have a good weekend.

Cut It Up Challenges

Good Morning.  It is that time again.  Cut It Up Challenges has another challenge starting today.  I can wait to see what everyone comes up with.  This should be a great challenge.

The theme, this time, is Through The Woods (wood grain embossing folder, wood grain papers, tree die cuts, woodland creatures, a log fire, anything that 'wood' evokes.)  You must use a die cut somewhere on the project.

The sponsor is Scrappy Mom's Stamps.  The winner will be able to pick a stamp set of their choosing.  Scrappy Mom has some great sets so this will be a great prize.

For my card, I used the 'Winter Tree & Deer' set from Silhouette Online.  I cut everything in white and used my copic markers to color the tree and deer.  I left areas of the tree uncolored for snow look.  I thought it needed some color so I added the little red bird and the twine across the bottom.

I look forward to seeing everyone's projects, so get those creative juices going.

Have a great day.

Silhouette Online Blog

Hello again.  I am trying to get back into the swing of things.  Some days are better than others.  I have only had 16 post this month.  I will hopefully have a few more post between now and the end of the month.  I would like to get to at least 25 post.

I love the Weekly Shape Challenges over at Silhouette Online.  They always encourage me to use my cutting files and my cameo (I know I don't need much encouragement.)  This week the challenge is Valentines or love theme.  I probably have enough Valentine's Day cards but I still have more I want to make.  This is one of them.

As I said earlier in the week, I love shaped cards and when I saw the heart shaped card on Silhouette Online, I put it in my shopping card immediately.  I had to make the card my own, so I embossed the center heart with hearts, added glitter to the word love and added a small heart.

I am going to enter the card in the following challenges:
2 Creative Chicks - Anything Goes
Silhouette Online Blog - Weekly Shape Challenge
   Curtain Call - Love Letter
   Creative Cutting - Valentine's

I hope you like my Valentine's Day card.  Have a great evening.

Cute Little Penguins

Hello.  Aren't these just the cutest little penguins ever?  If you look around my blog, you will discover that I love making shaped cards.  I hadn't made a penguin and I just had to.  I wasn't sure about the scarf, but it does add to the cuteness.

I used my scraps to make the scarves and hats so each one is different.  I found the penguin on Silhouette Online and then just duplicated, flipped and welded.  My cameo makes shaped cards so much fun to make.

Hmmmm, what will be next?  You never know, so keep a watch out.

I am going to use this card for the following challenges:
   Silhouette Challenges - Anything Goes
2 Creative Chicks - Anything Goes
   Die Cutting Divas - Penguins

Have a great night.

Incy Wincy Designs

It is time for another challenge at Incy Wincy Designs.  This week, the challenge is Flower Frenzy.  It is being sponsored by Kenny K and Stitchy Bear.  The design team has come up with some great cards, so make sure to head over and check them out.

I used an image from Stitchy Bear.  It is hard to work on flowers in the middle of winter but it didn't bright my mood a little bit.  I choose the bear with the sunflower because I thought it could be used in the summer or fall.

I hope you like the card and will come join us in this week's challenge.

Challenges

I haven't done alot of challenges lately and I really need to get back into the swing of things.  To that end, I made a card tonight and I am using it for several challenges.

I used the 'Birthday Cake Mouse' digital stamp from Meljen.  He is one of my favorite images by Meljen.  I use alot when I need birthday cards and I am running low so it was a good time to use him.   I am using some new paper that I  got at the Archiver's Going Out of Business sale.

These are the challenges I entering:
Meljen's Designs - stickers (I used my Xyron sticker maker on the banners behind the circles)
From The Heart - I heart Sketch 49
Die Cuttin Diva - Something New, Something Old (New - Paper; Old - Digital Stamp) I used my     cameo to print and cut the birthday cake mouse

Catch The Bug - Birthday Bash - Saturday Bingo

I have a few of things to make and then hopefully I will be back with something else.  Have a great evening.

Snowflakes

Hello, I am back again.

I am still in winter mode and I think I will be for several more weeks.  Usually, I enjoy the winter and love the snow.  This year, I haven't enjoyed it as much.  Strange.  It hasn't stopped me from making my winter cards.

My sister and I saw this frame on Silhouette Online and we both knew we were going to make a card with it.  So that is what we did today.  I am not really good at cutting delicate images, but I am getting better.  If anyone has any tips, please pass them along.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
   Silhouette Challenges - Anything Goes
Catch The Bug - Winter Wonderland
Clear It Out - Layers with Background Paper

Off to address some envelopes.  Have a good evening.

Just Playing Around

I was just surfing the web today when I ran across this cute fish bowl.  I just had to make a couple.  I couldn't find my wobbles so the fish just has foam dots behind him.  This is a Miss Kate Cuttable.  You can buy a set with several things here or you can just get the fish and fish bowl on Silhouette Online.

I am trying to cut out some snowflakes but they are really delicate.  I am cutting them for the second time.  Hopefully they will work this time around.  If so, I will be back with another card.  If not, have a nice evening.

Meljen's Design & Sketch Saturday

One of my goals for the New Year was to find a couple of charities that use homemade cards and make cards for them.  I was originally thinking about a local hospice care center or some thing similiar.  I had heard about Operation Write Home several years ago, but forgot about them.  I ran across their site right after Christmas and I just knew this was the first place I wanted to send cards.  I am a very proud American and I am extremly grateful to our military for all that they do to serve and protect this country.

IF YOU KNOW OF ANY GREAT CHARITIES, LOOKING FOR CARDS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I am getting ready to send some cards to Operation Write Home  this week.  I want to have a batch ready by the end of the month.  I decided to make some patriotic cards for the AnyHero Mail.  I am going to have 10 - 15 cards for the AnyHero program and 30 - 50 cards for the Write Home program.  One of the first stamps I thought of was 'Birthday Cup Mouse' by Meljen's Designs.  I don't know why but it has always been a patriotic digital stamp to me.   I have used it several time and I am sure it will be pulled out again.

I have six of these cut out and ready to color.  I am going to keep one for my files, one to a very dear friend for his birthday and the other 4 will go in my stack of AnyHero cards.

I am also going to use this card for three challenges.  The first is Meljen's Design's Bulleye challenge.  Everything was suppose to be centers.  I think I did ok on that.  Then the second one is the Sketch Saturday challenge.  The sketch was a simple one and it worked good with this digital stamp.  At lastly, Tuesday Throwdown's challenge is stripes this week.

It has been a slow process but I am trying to get back into the swing of things.  And that means more challenges.  See you again soon.  Have a great evening.

Whimsie Doodles & other challenges

The challenge over at Whimsie Doodles is Snowmen.  That was great for me, I have several of their snowmen.  They have some great digital stamps.

For the challenge, I am using the Cup of Tea Snowman.   I used the sketch from 'From the Heart'.  The height of the snowman worked really good with the sketch.  I added a snowflake with a brad on the side.  I am also using the card for the Tuesday Throwdown Snowman challenge.

I hope you have a good night.

Snowman Scene

My sister and I took some time last night and played around while on skype.  We decided to make the Snowman scene card from Silhouette Online.  It was really easy to cute.  It has a great cut.  I always like the ones that cut good.

Instead of using two sided paper, I added a snow background to the inside of the card.  I also didn't cut the sentiment in the cloud.  I used one of my stamps to add 'hello'.

I am going to use the card in the 'Saying Hello' challenge on Little Tangles.

Have a great weekend.  I am off to do a little more cleaning.

Digi Darla

Here in Michigan, we had a winter blizzard last weekend and we are still digging out.  School was closed for three days.  Normally, I would have spent the time in my craft room.  But we were just getting back from two weeks down south so I spent the time unpacking, wash clothes, and getting my son ready to leave for college again.

It was nice having the time to do all of that, but it would have been nice to be in the craft room.

The challenge over at Digi Darla's is photo inspired.  It is a winter scene.  It was the perfect time for it.  Too bad, I could use the snow in my front yard.  Instead, I used the snowflake swoosh card from Silhouette Online.  Afterall, you can't have a winter scene with out the blowing snow.

I put gems on the large snowflake and added a snowflake border across the top of the card.  I love the cards that aren't square.  This was a fun card to put together.  On the inside, I just used my 'Just Because' stamp.

I am also going to use this card for the following challenges:
   Eureka - Blue & Blings
Love To Create - Blue & Blings

Have a good night/morning.

Cut It Up Challenges

It is time for another challenge at Cut It Up.  The last two weeks have flown by.  The challenge this week is White on White with a splash of one color.  I thought about snow first, but them I remembered seeing a card with red glitter as the background.  I knew what I wanted to do immediately.

I cut the top white layer first with a heart in it.  Then I put the red glitter paper behind it.  Then attached it to the white card with foam tape.  I cut the 'Be Mine' out with my Silhouette cameo and attached it with some zots.  The little red hearts are from a small punch I have had forever.

I hope you go over to Cut It Up and join us for this challenge.  The sponsor this week is Cute As A Button.  You will get a $20 coupon code.  It is a great prize, so make a card and join us.

Have a great day and weekend.

Sketch Saturday

I am still behind on a million things and I am finding it hard to find time to stamp, but I did find time today to put together a card from the Sketch Saturday.

The little bear with the umbrella is from Silhouette Online.  It is a print and cut file.  I have only ever printed one other print and cut file and it didn't print really well, so I was hesitate to try another one.  But this little bear was so cute, I just had to try again.  I am so glad I did.   I am going to purchase another one in this set, so you will be seeing it soon.

This was a great sketch.  I really enjoyed working with it.

Have a warm and safe evening.

Mitten Shaped Card

Hello everyone.  We are in the middle of a deep freeze here in Michigan.  I went out today for the first time since Sunday.  The roads were terrible.

My mother got a silhouette cameo for Christmas.  My sister and I got her on skype today and started explaining things to her.  She did really good.  It will take time, but I think she picked it up quickly.
We cut this Mitten shaped card by Silhouette

It was suppose to have words on the top of it, but I don't like cutting words, so I left them off.  I added gems to the center of the snowflakes and the bow.  I also stamped 'sending warm wishes' on the top of the mitten.

I just love this card.  I wish I had cut more of them.  Maybe later.

I am going to use this card for the following challenges:
   Silhouette Challenges - Anything Goes
Glitter N Sparkle - Anything Goes
   Curtain Call - Smitten

I have another card to finish up before I can post it.  Have a good night and I will be back in a little while.
