Lori Whitlock

Hello again.  While I was playing with some of Lori Whitlock's files, I decided to cut this one.  It has been on my to do list for a while.  I did it in red, white and blue. It is too late for the 4th of July, but I will ahead of the game next year.  So Happy Birthday USA.  (a little late or early depending on how you look at it.)

The banner was too small for my sentiment so I left it off and cut this one with one of my decorative scissors.  I think it looks like a flag waving (kind of).

If I make more of these,  and I might, I could take the celebrate freedom off and just put Happy Birthday.  We will just have to wait and see.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
   Lori Whitlock - Birthdays
   Addicted to CAS - Celebrate
   Doodle Garden - Patriotic
Crafty Girls Challenge - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes/ Make it Cute
Dream Valley Challenges - Favorite Colors (I love Red, White & Blue)

I am off to clean my table and have a late lunch.  See you later...

Birthday Balloons

Good Wednesday Afternoon.  I hope every one is having a great hump day.

The next two months are big birthday months for me, so I need to make some cards.  I decided to use Lori Whitlock's new balloon card.  When I first cut them, I thought the balloons were huge, but I just love the card.

I went outside my normal colors.  I really liked these colors together.  I textured the top balloon so that there was so solid colors sitting on top of each other.  Instead of cutting the little pieces around the balloons, I cut one big piece.  This made putting the card together super easy.  I will be using this again.

The challenge over at As You Like It is favorite sentiment.   Like several of the design team, I don't have a favorite sentiment but I do love this small Happy Birthday.  I have used it several times and it is perfect for the front of the card.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
As You Like It - Favorite Sentiment & Why
   Milk Coffee Challenge - Birthday
A Gem of a Challenge - Spots and Stripes
   Sweet Stamps - Take Flight
   Stampin Royals - Anything Goes
   Artistic Inspiration - Color Inspired
Crafty Creations - Just For Fun

Have a great afternoon and I will be back later with something else.

Imagine That

Good afternoon.  I won't be on here long because I have got some running around to do, but hopefully this evening, I will be back.

Did you know that Imagine That had sketches?  I didn't or if I did, I forgot.  I was looking around store site the other day and I saw them.  They have been open on my computer since.  So today, when I sat down to make a card, I went to the sketches first.  I think you will be seeing more of them.  There are some great possibilities.

I don't use purple often.  It just isn't one of my favorite colors.  I only a couple copic markers in purple, only one roll of ribbon and no buttons.  But when I sat down with this image from Little Miss Muffet, I decided to make her dress purple.  I didn't want to use pink.  I have made too many pink cards lately. I didn't want a lot of purple so I just highlighted with it.

I reversed the embossing on it.  I thought it would get it a different look.  I think it came out really well.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
Little Miss Muffet - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Emboss It
   Glitter N Sparkle - Purple
Aveune 613 Create - Anything Goes
   Pile It On - Embossing
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes

Have a great afternoon.  I am off to run my errands.

Squigglefly

Hello.  It has been a busy weekend.  I had some household chores to do and I am slowly getting them all done.  I even cleaned my craft room.  I have some new shelves and I have been organizing.  Once I get everything back in here.  I will take a picture or two.

I took a break and printed out one of my Sguigglefly digital images.  This one is another Shy Bear (sbhibella) image.  I think he is so cute.   I covered the heart up with the clouds.   The saying is from My Craft Spot by Kimberly in the Simply Sentiments.

The clouds don't look great but I could find my cloud stencil.  It is somewhere.  I will find it eventually.

I am going to use this card for the following challenges:
Love To Create - Sunny & Bright
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Summer
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
   Crafty Calendar Challenge - Summertime

Have a great afternoon.

Meljen's Designs

Hello.  Today, I am working with pink again.  I just like pink, what can I say.  But I meant to grab pink today.  I wanted to make a card for In The Pink.  The challenge is Get Well or Thinking of You.  I decided to do Thinking of You.

While I was doing it, I remembered that Meljen's Design's challenged ended soon so I printed out the cupcake from the weekend mini challenge and that is my image.  You were suppose to base your card on a book.  I just finished reading Joanne Fluke's last Hannah Swensen book.  The main character owes a cookie shop and makes cookies and cupcakes, so that is where the cupcake came into play.

I also had a sketch from OWH opened so that is the basic card.  It has lots of layers which meant lots of pattern paper.  I added an extra layer for the sentiment, but I really liked how it came out.

I am going to use this card for the following challenges:
   Penny's Challenge - Anything Goes
Ave 613 Create - Anything Goes
   Eureka - Monochromatic
   Fan-tastic Tuesday - Anything Goes
   Lia Stamps - Anything Goes
In The Pink - Get Well/Thinking of You
   Meljen's Designs - Book Inspired

Have a great day.  Hopefully I will be back later.

Paper Shelter

Hello.  This is probably going to be very short.  I only have a few minutes to get this posted.  I guess I should have started it last night instead of waiting until today.

The card needs something on the back but I am not sure what and I wanted to leave room to sign the card.   I may redo it.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Paper Shelter - Vacation
Fab N Funky - Feels Like Summer
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenges - Sea and Sand
Cute Card Thursday - Fun In The Sun
Creative Card Crew - Sea and Beach

Have a great afternoon.

Summer Time

Hello.  One last card for tonight.   I still need to do another old project but I think this will probably finish me up for the night.  The red background paper has cute little words relating to grilling and family.  I wish the words showed up.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
   Scrappy Mom - Grill It
Pile It On - Summer Fun
   Repeat Impressions - Summer Fun
Silhouette Challenges - Print and Cut

Have a great evening.

My Craft Spot by Kimberly

Hello again.  Here I am with a new project.  I had planned on making this for Father's Day and I ran out of time.  So it is just going to be a surprise.

I wasn't sure about the colors and there was pieces that I didn't use.  But I did manage to get it put together.  I think my husband will be surpriesed.  I just need a candy bar now.

I am going to use this in the following challenges:
My Craft Spot by Kimberly - Anything but a Card
Scribbles & Scraps - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes

Have a great evening.

Catch Up Time Part 2

Hello.  I am taking a short break in my craft room.  I wanted to get one more do later cards done.  I decided to do this Meljen's Design card that I started a couple of weeks ago.  I made some that say Happy Birthday and some with Thinking of You.

One more project done.  I want to do at least one more today.   I am going to pick up my craft table and clean some stamps and then I am off to do some things in the kitchen.  Chat later.

Christmas In July

Hello once again.  I know I am suppose to be working on old projects, but I just had to make something new.

Crafty Sentiments gave away a digital image for their challenge this time around.  The only thing, they asked was that you enter the challenge.  It ends today so I really needed to get a card done.  The theme is Christmas in July so I am getting ahead of my Christmas cards.

I used the sketch from Repeat Impressions.  It was an easy sketch and it worked perfectly for the image.  I may have missed a layer but it will work.  I added lots of glitter on the snowflakes.

I am using this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - Christmas in July
   Repeat Impressions - Sketch J914
Craft Your Passion - Christmas In July
Jellypark Friday Challenge - Christmas In July

Off to finish these and then an old project.  Have a great day.

Catch up Time

Happy Happy Happy Monday.  We are having a nice sunny day today.  I need to be in the flower bed weeding, but I am putting that off until later in the week. Today, I want to get the house straightened and clothes washed.

In my craft room, I have a bunch of do later kits.  What are do later kits?  I will make a card up and then put every thing I need to make more in a ziplock bag with the card.  They are perfect for when I only have a few minutes and I want to put something together.  Well, I have been making the kits and not finishing them.  So this week, I am going to work on that.  I would like to have all of them done before school starts back.

This card is one of them.   I made the original card back in March.  Wow, I can't believe it has been sitting here that long.  Oh well, it is done now.   I only have a million left.  Actually I have 11 left.  Let's see how many I get done.

Have a great day.

Christmas In July

Good evening.  Just a quick card for you.  Every one is talking about Christmas in July cards.  I am not ready to start Christmas cards but I thought I would be a card for the Sweet N Sassy challenge.

I went with the Christmas Owl.  I have so many owls and I really need to use them more.  I used the Sketch Saturday sketch and it made the card quick and easy.

I am going to use the card for the following challenges:
Sweet N Sassy - Christmas In July
   Sketch Saturday - Sketch 318
   Mark's Finest Paper - Red
Glitter N Sparkle - Anything Goes
Sweet Stampin - Christmas In July
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Have a great night.

Meljen's Designs

Hello.  Not real tired tonight so I thought I would play for a little bit.

I got a new digi from Meljen's Designs this week.  It has been sitting in my inbox so I thought I would just play with it.  I love the little mouse.  I have him in several different themes.  I am sure you have seen him before, but doesn't he look cute with the inflatable.

I folded the card at the top instead of the side.  I took the blues out of the photo inspiration at Meljen's Designs.  Added a ribbon and some perler beads and the card is finished.

I am using the card for the following challenges:
Meljen's Designs - Photo Inspired Summer Colors
Sugar Pea Designs - Sketch #7
Pile It On - Monochromatic (Blue)
Simon Says - Spots and Dots
   Carfting Station - Anything Goes

Have a great evening.

Birdie

Hello in cold Michigan.  It is below 70 today and I had to find some sweat pants to put on this morning.  Oh well, at least the power bill shouldn't be high.

I have a cute little birdie for you.  It is by Lori Whitock.  I just love her files.  They are always organized well and go together easy.  Shaped cards was the theme for her link party this week.  She has so many and it was really hard to pick you, but I decided on the little birdie.  I wanted some thing a little different on the color so I picked this teal polka dot paper.  I thought it came out so cute.

I am going to use this card in her link party challenge. UPDATE:  The challenge closed earlier than I thought so I missed it, but I still love the card.

Thank you Lori Whitlock for making such great files for every one.  Have a great afternoon.

Bugaboo Digis

Hello.  Today was errand running and man was it windy.   I was ready to get home.

I finally sat down this evening and made a card.  I had forgotten that I had purchased this pretty image from Bugaboo Digis.  I need to look through my digis and see what else I am forgetting about.  Plus I have some new ones.

I used the sketch from Sugar Pea Designs.  I tried to make it the standard A2 size but it was hard to put the slanted piece in there.  I love the colors I will be making several of these tomorrow.  It was the first time I used this texture folder.  I like it, you will be seeing it again.

I am using this card for the following challenges:
Sugar Pea Designs - Anything Goes
   Little Miss Muffet - Sketch
   Dream Valley Challenges - Summer
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
   Curtain Call - Anything Goes

Have a nice and peaceful evening.

Butterflies

Hello again from still sunny and cooler Michigan.  I am so enjoying this weather.  By this time of the day, I am usually hot, but not this week.

The challenge over at City Crafter is Sunshine and Lavender.  I don't usually use a lot of purple/lavender so I really didn't know what to do.  I opened my designer software and was looking around and I saw butterflies.  I thought perfect. I really liked out the card cut out.  Instead of putting the card on the inside, I glued it to the cut out area and trimmed the edge off. I added a sentiment and another butterfly.  I think it came out great.

I am using it for the following challenges:
Glitter N Sparkle - Anything Goes
City Crafter - Sunshine & Lavendar
   Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Once again, have a great day.

SVG Cutting Files

Good Monday morning.  It has cooled off around here and we are enjoying a beautiful day.

I thought I would mess around with my SVG Cutting Files.  I have several and I need to find the time to cut some of them.  I picked the Kawaii Bee Card today.  I even had a Peachy Keen face stamp that would work for the face.

You can't tell but I put vellum on the wings.  I think next time I will just leave them white.  The vellum really doesn't show.

I am going to use the card in the following challenges:
SVG Cutting Files - 3 colors
Repeat Impressions - Fur or Winged Things
613 Avenue Create - Shaped Card
   A2z Scrapbooking - Anything Goes

Have a great day every one.

Whimsie Doodles

Hello.  I have just been busy this afternoon.

I have another card for you.  It is for the Whimsie Doodle challenge.  I wasn't going to do it, because I just didn't have any use  for a Congratulations card.  Then a good friend got a new job and I decided to make her a quick card.

I stayed away from pink and with with peach/orange.  I printed the sentiment on my computer.  Then instead of a white card, I went with a cream color.  I thought  all the colors went good together, even if I called my image first and then picked the papers out of my scrap basket.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
   Whimsie Doodles - Congratulations
   Digi Sketch Challenge - Sketch

Well, I am off to finish some of these cards, I have made today and then I need to clean off my craft table.  Have a great evening.

Squigglefly

Hello.  Just another quick card for you.

I decided at the last minute to make this card for the Squigglefly challenge.  It was 'use your scraps'.   With the exception of the card, I used scraps for all of it.

The sketch at Clear It Out was perfect for my scrap basket.  I flipped the embellishment from the top to the bottom right corner.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Squigglefly - Use Your Scraps
   Eureka - Vacation
   Clear It Out - Sketch
   Creative Fingers - Anything Goes

Have a great afternoon.

Denami Designs

Hello again.  Yes, I changed the background again.  I can't find one that I really like.  I wish I knew more about these sort of things so I can customize it more.  Maybe one day.

I had this card cut from Mother's Day.  (You can see the Mother's Day version here.)  I have been meaning to make some thing out of it and today was the day.  I dug through my scraps for something for the pieces.  Once I cut the pieces, I had to find something to fit in the small squares.  I immediately thought of my Denami chickies.  I love them and I have so many.

I hope you like the card and that it inspires you to relax and have some fun.

I am going to use it for the challenge at As You Like It Challenges.  The theme is Animals or People and why.  I chose animals.  There are just so many options.  Chickies, bears, turtles, elephants.  The options are unending.

I will also use it in the following challenges:
   A Gem of a Challenge - Animals
Scribble and Scrap - Anything Goes
Chocolate Coffee Cards - For The Birds

Have a great day.

Classic Car

Hello on this sunny Sunday.  I hope everyone is enjoying the day.

I needed to make a birthday card for my husband's uncle.  I thought this card from Silhouette Online would be perfect.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion - On The Move / Transportation
   Creative Card Crew - Masculine
   Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes

Have a great Sunday.

Cut It Up Challenges

Hello and Happy Friday.  I hope everyone finds time this weekend to relax and enjoy some down time.

It is time for another challenge at Cut It Up.  This is a fun one.  The theme is Under The Sea.  I can't wait to see what every one comes up with.

I love fish.  My husband and I used to raise angelfish and algae-eaters.  I love watching the tanks.  So for this challenge, I went a little outside the box.  I made my card with a fish bowl on it.  The sea is just a little small.

I added a swirly background to my base card.  I love how it came out.
