From The Heart

I am still on vacation so making cards is a challenge.   I have no paper trimmer, no background paper, only minimum cardstock, and no big shot so no textures.  My cards for the next few days will be very simple.

I wanted to do the From The Heart Monthly challenge so I would get the digital image for next month.  This month, they gave us a choice between two images.  I chose the snowman.   I tried to make non-Christmasy so I could use it for winter.  I think it came out pretty good.

I picked up the ribbon from Hobby Lobby today.  I think it looked cut across the top of the card.  I was going to put a sentiment on the front and forgot all about it.  When I get home next week, I am going to add some glitter to it.

I am also going to use it for the following challenges:
   Get Inky - Winter Snow
   Inkspirational - Anything Goes
   Parade Your Crafts - Christmas/Winter

Off to work on the rest of my cards.  Have a good night.

Playtime

I have been busy the last few days getting ready for Christmas.  So this afternoon, I decided to take some time to just relax and play a little while.  I still have so many things I wanted to make for Christmas.  I won't get every thing done but maybe a few more things.

I decided to cut this lantern while I was folding clothes.  I knew it would take a while and I figured it would be waiting on me when I was ready.  It took forever to get it off the cutting mat because I didn't want to mess up the snowflakes.

I did it in white and blue so I could use it through the end of January.  I had planned on cutting several of them but after it took longer to put together than I thought, I decided on just one.  I am going to put it on my winter mantle.

I am going to use it for the following challenges:
   2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter
   Silhouette Challenges - 3D
Incy Wincy - Let It Snow
   Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
   Cardz TV - Winter Wonderland
Chick N Scrap - Holiday Gifts
Craft Spot by Kimberly - Holiday Gifts

Wow, and I was just making it because I wanted it.

Have a great day.

Catch The Bug

I know you have seen several of my cards for the Holiday Chaos Celebration at Catch the Bug.  I didn't get them all done, but it was so much fun.  The theme each day was challenging but once you thought about it, it was fairly easy.

They announced the winners today and I won second place on Thursday's theme.  I am so excited.  Thank you Catch The Bug.  I will enjoy playing with my new digital stamps.

Have a great day.

Cut It Up Challenges

It is time for another challenge over at Cut It Up Challenges.    The theme this time around is Christmas.  You must use a die cut.  It is sponsored by As Cute As A Button.

I used a gingerbreadman border from Silhouette Online and added a Merry Christmas sentiment under them.  It was a quick and easy card to put together.

Make sure you join us.  It will be a fun two weeks.

Have a great day.

Meljen's Designs

I had a busy day and I didn't get a lot of stamping time.  I started these gift tags last night and I sat down tonight and color one of them for the Tags challenge at Meljen's Designs.  As you know I love Meljen's Designs and I thought this little penguin would be perfect for my niece's Christmas present.

Have a nice evening.

Catch The Bug

I just love the name of this site (Catch The Bug).  I caught the stamping bug over 20 years ago and I never lost it.  I am not complaining, it is a great way to relax.

I am working on day 5 of the Holiday Chaos Celebration challenge.  I really want to get all of these done, but this will be the last one for tonight.  I have a few more things I want to work on.

Day 5 is Pick a treat and then follow the recipe.  I decided on Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles - Make your card a shape other than Square or Rectangle, 3 pieces of Bling & Ribbon.  I had the peppermint candy shaped card on my to do list so I  thought this would work perfectly.

I don't have a good track record with cutting out words so I didn't try to cut the words.  Plus I don't know how it would have looked with the gems in the center of my candy.

Off to finish these cards.  Hope you have a great evening.

Ugly Sweater Card

I am still working on my Holiday Chaos Celebration Challenge.  I am up to Day 4.  I will get there.  I have until the weekend to get the other cards made.  I am going to try and get day 5 done tonight.  Hopefully, I will get it finished.

For the sweater card, I used the argyle sweater gift card box from Silhouette Online.  I enlarged to sweater to a 4" square.  The joy garland is from Meljen's Designs.  I think the card came out really good.

We always have an ugly sweater day at work right before Christmas break.  I think I will give this to one of the ladies that always goes all out.  She will get a kick out of it.

Have a great afternoon and I will be back in a little while.

Tuesday Throwdown

I was picked for the Top 3 at Tuesday Throwdown.  I am honored.  Thank you so much for picking my Christmas box.

Chocolate Covered Cherries

Good Sunday Morning.   I have to work today but before I leave I wanted to post my latest candy boxes.  I love it when I can re-use a cutting file.  I used the acorn choc box that I used at Thanksgiving.  I simply took the acorn off and added a tree.  I cut them in green and added little cupcake liners with chocolate covered cherries inside.

I am going to give them to the ladies at work.  I am sure they will love them.

I am going to use them for the following challenges:
   Silhouette Challenges - 3D
Love to Create - Holiday Gift/3D
   Tuesday Throwdown - Baking Materials
   Silhouette Online - Christmas

It is great when something I would already make fits into a challenge.

Have a great day.

Glitter N Sparkle

I won 2nd place at Glitter N Sparkle this week.  What a great surprise.  I will have some thing new to play with.

Have a great night.

Bugaboo Candy Cane Mouse

Since I messed up on my Catch The Bug Holiday Chaos Challange, I started completely over.  I wasn't sure about the mouse but she grew on me.  She really does color up really good.  I think the card came out really good.

Day 3 is  Pick your FAVORITE way to unwind during the holidays:
Cocoa & Holiday Music
Fuzzy Blanket & a Fire
Egg Nog & a Holiday Movie
Christmas Treats & a Glass of Milk
Take a Nap
And use the recipe below for your creation using today's New Release:
Cocoa & Holiday Music - Use the Color Chocolate & Something Silver
Fuzzy Blanket & a Fire - Use Texture and at LEAST 3 layers
Egg Nog & a Holiday Movie - Use the color cream & a Funny sentiment
Christmas Treats & a Glass of Milk - Non-Traditional Christmas Colors & BLING
Take a Nap - Keep it Simple - Use ONLY Cardstock

I chose the Cocoa and Holiday Music one.  I colored the mouse  with my copic markers and the added a background paper with a silver strip down the side.   The mouse is brown to cover the chocolate part of the challenge.

Off to get ready for work.  Hopefully this evening I will have something else new for you.

Snowman with a blue bird

I started out wanting to work on my Catch The Bug challenges.  I had this card all figured out when I realized that day 3 has to use a new release by Bugaboo, so this card wouldn't work.

I finished it anyway.  It is just so cute.  I used my snowflake texture folder for the background.  I used a snowman from Inkadinkdo.  And in order to make it Christmasy, I added a Merry Christmas stamp at the bottom of the square.

I guess I am off to work on my challenge card now.  Have a good night.

Catch The Bug

I am behind on my Catch the Bug Christmas Chaos challenges.  I am hoping to work on them later tonight or tomorrow.  In the meantime, I decided to go ahead and do the Catch The Bug Recipe Challenge.

I had some of my winter Northwood stamps on my desk so I picked up one and decided to use it.  The recipe called for 1 ribbon, 2 layers and 3 papers.   I added glitter to the snow.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Recipe Challenge
   C.R.A.F.T. - Christmas

That is probably all she wrote for tonight.  Have a great night and I will see all of you tomorrow hopefully.

Giant Snowflake

I saw a snowflake card on Craft Spot by Kimberly.  I just loved how clean it looked so I just had to make one too.  I wanted to add something to it so I went looking through my digital stamps and came up with this cutie from Whimsie Doodles.

I am going to use the card for the following challenges:
   2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter
Clear It Out - Anything Goes
Craft Spot by Kimberly - Sparkle & Shine

I have another card to finish and then I will post it.  I hope you have a great night.

Santa Tic Tac

I have a quick Santa for you.  I don't normally do eat tic tacs but the boxes are so cute, I just had to make some.   I gave them to the ladies at work.  They just love getting some thing I have made.

It is going to be used on the challenge at Crafty Catz.

Have a great day.

More Tags

I am still working on tags for my Christmas presents.  I still have several shapes I want to make into tags.

Today, I used the reindeer from one of the Silhouette Online boxes.  The tags were bigger than normal but that is okay.

I am going to use the tags for the Silhouette Online Weekly Shape Challenge and the Catch The Bug  Chaos Christmas challenge.

I will be back in a little bit with some thing else.

Snowman Rocker

As you all know I love rocker cards, when I saw this treat topper by Lori Whitlock.  I knew I was going to make a card out of it.

I added gems to the holly on his hat and left the rest of the pattern as is.

I am going to use him in the Craft Spot by Kimberly challenge for shaped cards.

Have a nice night and hopefully I will be back in a little while with something else.

Happy Monday

The advantage of cleaning all day yesterday is that it gives me more time to play today.  I really enjoyed coming home to a clean house.

My project for the afternoon was this cute gingerbreadman from Imagine That.  There is a boy and a girl in the set, so there is so much you can do with the set.

I cut an extra set of hats so I could 3d it.  I also added glitter to it.  I cut the gingerbreadman border from Silhouette Online.  The Merry Christmas stamp is from Morningstar.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Imagine That - Monthly Challenge (I have never gotten one finished this early in the month)
   2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter
Catch The Bug - Christmas Chaos - Day 1
   Creative Cutting - Christmas Cards
   Inkspiration - Anything Goes

Off to finish dinner.  I will be back later tonight.

Meljen's Designs & From The Heart Sketch

I cleaned house all day so I only have one project for you.  I had a list of digital stamps I want to use before Christmas. This 'Bitty Christmas Tree Bears' stamp from Meljen's Designs is one of them.  I think the little bears are just so darling.

I colored them with my copic markers and added glitter to the snowflakes, snow on the ground and on the tree.

I am going to use this card for the From The Heart Sketch #44 and the Glitter N Sparkle - glitter and sparkle challenge.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Another Challenge

Ok, here is my last challenge for the night.  It is the free digital image challenge at From The Heart.  I love this image and will use it again.

I am also going to use the card for the Get Inky - Onward & Upward challenge.

Have a great night.

CAS

I started this card for the Digi Darla challenge and it ended before I finished.  I am going to use it for Sketch Saturday #287 and Parade Your Crafts

I know it is a simple card but I really like how it came out.  It will go in my stash of cards for next year.

One more challenge card to make for tonight.

Imagine That

I have a several challenges to work on this evening.  This is the first one.

Imagine That Digi Stamps offers a free digital stamp each month if you compete in the previous month's challenge.  This month, it was 'Birthday Sea Horse'.  It has been such a busy month that I have waited until the end to get it done.  I won't wait next month.

I decided to combine challenges and use the Catch The Bug sketch #146 on the same card.  I wasn't sure about the combination when I started but I do like the colors.

Off to make something else.  See you soon.

Glitter N Sparkle & Whimsie Doodles

It was a great day for family time.  My husband, son and I spend the afternoon watching movies together.  It was a nice wonderful.  One I will remember for a long time.

I found some time this evening to make another card.  I decided to use another Whimsie Doodle image.  This time it was the Snowman Slushie.  I put it on the Snowflake Swing Card from Silhouette Online.  I just love these swing cards.  I made the Snowman small enough to fit on the bottom of the front section.  I added glitter to the center snowflake.

I am going to enter this in the following challenges:

I hope everyone had a great day.

Sketch Saturday & Whimsie Doodles

I woke up this morning ready to play, but I had a few things to do first.  I finally made it to my craft room right after lunch.  I was looking for some thing Christmasy so this is what I came up with.

This is the Elves Watching digital by Whimsie Doodles.  It comes with the words.  I  used the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I did flip the sketch around to make my bigger circles work.  I also added glitter to the hat.

I am also playing around with the font size.  Let me know what you think.

Have a great day.

Cut It Up Challenges

It is time for another challenge at Cut It Up Challenges.  This week's challenge is Giving Thanks.  Make a card as a thank you or make a thank you gift.  You must use a die cut of some kind.

The sponsor is $5.00 gift card from Digital Delights

I made these little gift boxes from Silhouette Online for my Thanksgiving table as a little "I am grateful for you" gift.  I put peanut butter balls inside.  When I took the picture the peanut butter balls were made so they aren't in the picture.

Make sure you go over and enter the challenge.  We will also be announcing the winner of the last challenge.

Have a great day.

More Christmas Tags

I made another set of Christmas tags.  I will probably have too many tags but they are so fun to make.  I still have a few more images I want to use so you will be seeing more of these.

These were made with the Christmas Gingerbread Girl from Silhouette Online.  I cut the bow off of some of them and made boys.

Have a great night or morning since it is now 3am.  I am going to be tired tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving & Christmas Tags

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the U.S..  I hope you had a great day with family and friends.

I had some time today so I used the tutorial on Lori Whitlock's site to make Christmas tags by welding and offsetting.  I made a snowman tag several days ago and I really wanted to make some more shapes.  This was the perfect time for it.

The shape I used for this challenge was the 5 pc layered Christmas tree.  I thought this would look good with a white background instead of a designer paper.  Then I cut the tree out of designer paper.

Have a great night.

Eureka Stamps

I had meant to get a lot done today, but I didn't.  Maybe later tonight.  I did make this card for some challenges.  I used the "Farmer Crow" from Meljen's Designs and the acorn card is from Silhouette Online.  I think it came out really good.  I just love the little crow.

Here are the challenges I am entering the card in:
   Eureka Stamps - Thanksgiving
   Chocolate Coffee Cards - Grateful
   Repeat Impressions - Thanksgiving
   QKR Stampede - Thanksgiving.

Have a great evening.  Hopefully I will be back with some thing later.

Digi Darla & Incy Wincy Designs

The challenge this week at Digi Darla's was a copy cat image.  It was a cornucopia.  I decided to combine it with the Incy Wincy Designs' Easel challenge.  It is always nice to combine challenges.  It helps me stand up to date.

I used one of the Silhouette Online Halloween easel cards.  I took off the spiders and pumpkins and just left the back ground squares.  It is a 4" square so mailing it should be standard.  I have mailed all of my Thanksgiving cards for this year so I will save it until next year.

I will probably be back later with some thing else.  In the meantime, have a great afternoon.

Bugaboo Stamps

I wasn't sleepy so I decided to stay up and play around a little bit.  I meant to finish addressing my Thanksgiving cards but I printed this Bugaboo tree out earlier today and it just kept calling my name.

I printed it to use for the Bingo challenge at Catch the Bug.  The tree is just so cute.  I can imagine my tree doing this from all the ornaments on it.  I used red and yellow gems and white brads.  The elements I needed to complete the bingo were brads, starts with "t" (Tree) and bugaboo image.

I decided to use the sketch #43 on From the Heart.  I really liked the clean and simple look of the sketch.  It worked really well with the Christmas tree.  Instead of a short ribbon, I ran my ribbon the whole length of the designer paper.

I really need to finish my Thanksgiving cards so I am off of here for a little while.  Have a great night.

Christmas Gift Tags

I am just beginning my Christmas shopping so soon I will be wrapping presents.  I thought I would make some gift tags for them.  I saw the tutorial over at Lori Whitlock and I thought I would like it.  I didn't print the tags.  I cut them instead.  I thought it would give me a more 3D look.

This is super easy to do and I will be making more of these.

I am going to use the gift tags in the following challenges:
Silhouette Online - Gift Wrap Essentials
Creative Cutting - Christmas; not a Card
   Glitter N Sparkle - Tags

Have a great night.

Meljen's Designs

Here is a CAS card for Meljen's In A Word challenge. You can't see it but there is a leaf pattern textured on the bottom of the card.

I am also planning on using this card in the Parade Your Crafts; Grateful challenge.

Have a great day.

Little Miss Muffet

I made this card to go with the gift bag.  She is just so darling.  I think it will be a great birthday card.  I used the holey circles card from Silhouette Online.  I love being able to go into my Silhouette Library and pick out a card that is simple and easy but different.

I hope you have a great night.

Yet Another Challenge

I know you probably get tired of challenges, but they motivate me to make things.  I would normally make things but challenges help me with themes and just general ideas.

One of the girls at work is turning 40 tomorrow.  She really isn't looking forward to it.  So I knew I wanted to do something for her.  When I saw the challenge at C.R.A.F.T., I knew a gift bag would be perfect and give me a project for this challenge.

I made it simple.  I just put words on it.   This is the first time, I have decorated a gift bag.  Who knows I may have to make an Alabama bag for my son when he comes home from college for Thanksgiving next week.

Have a great night.

Cute Reindeer Bag

This little reindeer is a new design over at Silhouette Online this week.  I just had to cut him out.  He is just so cute.  I am going to use it for the Silhouette Challenge - Holiday challenge

I have another challenge I want to work on so hopefully I will be back in a little while.

Repeat Impressions

I haven't played with my Repeat Impressions stamps in a while and their challenge was Snow Fun so I pulled out my stamps and played with one of the penguins.

I decided to put him on a swing card.  Yes, I am still making these cards.  They are just so quick and easy to make and they are just adorable.    I did something different this time.  I cut the card out of my base color and then I cut it out of the pattern paper I wanted to use.  Once it was cut I just cut the two edge pieces.  No more  measuring or any thing, just a perfect cut.  I will do this again.

I cut out enough pieces to make four cards, so I will be putting the finishing touches on them later tonight.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges.
   Curtain Call - CAS Christmas
   Silhouette Challenges - Holiday
Clear It Out - Anything with a a Snowflake
   Tuesday Throwdown - Snowbirds

Have a great afternoon.  Hopefully I will be back later with something else.

Craft Spot & Saturday Sketch

Here is the card for the Pinterest Inspired challenge at Craft Spot.  I wish I had more time to work on this, but with all of my computer problems, it just didn't work out that way.  I am also using it for the sketch at Saturday Sketch.

That is it for tonight.  Have a good one.

Clear It Out - Smores

The challenge at Clear It Out is Smores with a stash of brown/white.  I saw this set of Moose Smores over at Little Scraps of Heaven and I just had to cut it.  I think I will use it for the next bonfire.  The kids won't care one way or another but he will be cute.

You can see the purple glue on the card but it will dry clear.

I have one more challenge to post and then I will be finished for the night.  So I will be right back.

Sunday, November 17, 2013

Stella Sketch

I really wanted to get some challenges completed tonight, but I finished some projects instead.  Oh well, that is the way things happen some times.

I did finish this turkey card.  It is a digital stamp from Meljen's Designs.  I printed and cut it with my silhouette cameo.  Then I had to color him.  I thought he would look really cute on the Stella Sketch at Catch The Bug.  I really liked the look of the sketch and how great the colors went together with the turkey.  You probably can't tell but the white circle has dots on it from my texture folder.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
   2 Creative Chicks - Thanksgiving
   Love to Create - Thanksgiving
   Silhouette Challenges - Holidays
   Get Inky - Thanksgiving

Off to finish the other three of these cards.  See you all later.  Have a nice night.

KaDoodle Bug - Cocoa Bear

I saw this bear on KaDoodle Bug this week as a
freebie.  I just had to have and make him.  He is just too cute.  Is is definitely a favorite in my Christmas/Winter cards.

I took off the pink swirl on the card and added a snowflake.  I also made the straw out of a real straw.  Once he was all put together, I put him on an easel card.  I adore him.  Too cute.

I am going to use him in the Crafty Catz, anything but square challenge.
