Autumn

Hello.

I have spent yesterday and today cleaning.  Just general straighten and getting ready for the holidays.  I love Thanksgiving.  I feel like it is a forgotten holiday.  We go straight from Halloween to Christmas.  But I don't.  My house will have a huge Turkey inflatable in the front year and all the colors of Fall on the inside.

Usually Thanksgiving is at the house, but a couple of years ago, we started going to my son's house.  He works the day before and the day after so it seems crazy for him to come home for one day.  He usually cooks but this is I am doing and taking with us.

Since I was in a clean mood, I made this simple and clean card.  It is really unusual for me, but I like how it came out.

I am entering these challenges...
      Creative Knockouts - #322 Clean & Simple
Alphabet Challenges - P is for Pumpkins
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes + Sentiments
      Give a Crafter A Cookie - #129 Thanksgiving
Cupcake Inspiration - #482 Red, Yellow & Orange

Off to clean off my craft table,  I really want to get my craft room clean and organized so when I have time over the next few weeks, I can sit right down.

Chat with you later.  Have a good evening.

Pumpkins

Hello again.  I am still cleaning off my desk and I ran across another shaker card, that I needed to post.  Are you tired of them yet?  I love making them so you will see more of them.

The pumpkins are from Queen & Co's Happy Harvest set.  I am not sure where the embossing folder is from.

I am entering the following challenges:
     Cupcake Inspirations - #481 Fall
     Cuttlebug Mania - Autumn Colors
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes
Just Add Ink - #481 Fall
Alphabet Challenge - P is for Pumpkins
MFT (Color Challenge) - #128 Orange, Green & Brown

Now seriously, I am going to cut something new....Chat with you soon.

Shadow Box Cards

Hello.  Is it Winter already?  The high today was only 43.  At least it was sunny.

Remember the cute shadow box cards, I got for my birthday.  I decided to try one.  I don't have the Lawn Fawn die so I headed over to the Silhouette Design Store.  They had a ton of them.  I picked one from Lori Whitlock.

I made the first one without resizing it.  It came out 4 1/2" square, so mailing it would have cost extra postage.  I really don't like to do that, so then I resized it and cut it again.   It came out so cute.  And it will be perfect for the A2 envelope.

Challenges I am entering...
     Crafty Sentiments - Fancy Folds
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes
     Fab N Funky - #455 Christmas
Paper Shelter - Make It Square
     Cute Card Thursday - #606 Christmas/Holidays

I am off to cut something else.  I hope everyone has a good weekend.  Chat with you later.

Happy Halloween

Hello and happy belated Halloween.  It was so rainy and cold here.  I felt sorry for the kids.  The rain even had some snow in it.

I have one more Halloween card for you.  I have had so much fun playing with all of my Queen & Co sets.  I still have a few more to play with.  I am going to start over next week and see if I can get a few more cards made.  I still have the new truck set, the tag set and the All Bundled Up sets.

Anyway,  on to the Halloween card.  I have this thing for candy corn.  I enjoy eating it, plus I just love the colors.  It makes me think Fall, football and family.  All of the important things.  lol

I like to use candy corn for Fall/Thanksgiving cards, too so you may see some orange, yellow and white candy still.

I am not sleepy, even though, it is bedtime so I am off to see what I can get into.  I don't know if I will be back or not.  If not, have a great evening.  Chat with you later.

I had to start with Halloween, even though it is too late to mail the cards.  I will have them for next year.  The Halloween Hoopla set is just so cute.  I love all of the dies in the set.

Halloween Batty Lantern

Hello.  How is everyone doing?  I have been busy with life the last few  days but I do have a couple of projects to show you.

The first is a simple bat lantern from the Silhouette Design Store.  Once a month, I make up kits for some of my friends that are learning to make cards.  I added this lantern, just as something fun to make for Halloween.  I had a couple left so I am going to make them up and put them in my neighbor's mailboxes tomorrow.

I haven't completed any challenges in a long time, so I thought I would see who still sites.  And see if I can get back into doing them.

             Challenges for this lantern:
Give You Give a Crafter A Cookie - #128 Halloween
             Double D Challenges - Silhouettes
Polka Doodle Craft Challenges - #43Anything Goes
Gem of A Challenge - #21 Anything Goes
Crafty Challenges - #401 Anything Goes

I don't know how often I will do challenges but it is fun to do them so we will see.

Off to fix up the last two.  Hopefully I will be back in a little bit with something else fun.

Chat with you later.  Have a good one.

Shopping

Hello.  How is everyone on this cloudy dreary day.  It is 2pm and the sun is no where is sight in Michigan.  Oh well, I will just stay inside and get a few things done.

I spent the last few days at my son's.  There wasn't a reason for the trip just a chance to hang out and relax with him and his girlfriend.  It turned into a craft shopping trip.  Kailey (my son's girlfriend) and I went shopping on Wednesday and every where we went I found craft supplies.  This picture doesn't come close to showing everything.  I have three big paper packs, two small ones, lots of loose paper, two Becky Higgins albums, two die sets, etc.  The list just goes on.

Now I just need to organize it all and then sit down and play for a little while.  Hopefully, I will be back later with a project.

Have a good afternoon.  Chat with you later.

Birthday cards

Hello.  I don't know how much I will be around this week, but I will try to post from time to time.  I still need to post the rest of the birthday cards.  I am still receiving them but hopefully by the end of the week, I will be up-to-date.

I received this first card from my in laws.  My mother-in-law isn't crafty but she has made some friends that make these wonderful cards.  It isn't it a great card.  They have been trying to get her to make them but she says at her age the work is just too small.

I have never tried the stitching on cards but it should does make some nice cards.  I should look into it but I have enough for now.  I will never get all the cards made that I want to make.

The next card just came in today,  It has definitely been cooler here.  In the 50s to 60s most days and 40s at night.  I think we are going to skip fall and go straight into winter.

The card is made by Solanie.  It was the only 5" square card, I received.  They were all standard A2 cards except the shadow box cards.  So it was a nice surprise to get a different size card.

Check out the boat one.  It is just too cute.  I love the wave.  I can't tell if it is a stencil or just paper, but amazing.  The boat is even named LFA for our group which stands for Lawn Fawn Addicts.  The twine is also Lawn Fawn twine.  Teresa made the card and she did a great job on it.  Just wonderful.

I know I keep using the same words but it is because I can't tell you how much these cards meant to me.  It was so much fun receiving them.  Every card put a smile on my face for one reason or another.

I have saved all of the cards.   I just like looking through them from time to time.  The next one will be going in my Elephant stash.  This is one of my favorite Lawn Fawn stamps.  I use it a lot.  The elephants are so cute.  The white paper has the stripes cut out so the green paper shows through.  I love the 3d effect.  Molly, if you are out there reading this.  Thank you for putting the smile on my face.

Well, I really need to get into the kitchen and cook dinner.  Hopefully, I will be back later.  Have a great evening.  Chat with you later.

Another set of Birthday cards

Hello.  I hope you are doing well today.  I am going to spend the day catching up on things I need to get done.

I have a few more birthday cards for you.  I hope you are enjoying looking at these cards.  It meant so much to receive all of these wonderful cards,  I just want to share them.  If you haven't seen the previous ones, you can check them out here, here and here.

The first one, today is a cute hippo.  I have seen this set but it wasn't on my list but the card may change my mind.  The card came to me from Katie.  I like the simple cleanliest of the card.  Sometimes they are the best ones.

Owls,  if you has some of my friends, they will say, I love them.  And I do.  When they first started showing up as stamps a few years ago, everyone had a cute one and I just had to have it.  So yes, I have tons of them.

However, I didn't have these. Aren't they just so cute?  I had to go look at Sunny Studio's website.   I now own this set and one other.

I will be working with them this weekend hopefully.  The card was made by Inger.  It was the first card I received from the birthday club.

Oh, I forgot about the inside.  Inger cut Happy Birthday out of cardboard and then covered it with orange polka dot paper.  On the black card, it really popped when you opened the card.  I will definitely be borrowing this idea.  I just loved it.

Debbie made the next fall one.  It is using the 'Jump for Joy' stamp set by Lawn Fawn and as I mentioned, it is one of my favorites.  I liked the little leaves added to the tree and the glitter on the leaf pile.  The plaid paper matches the scene perfectly.  Super cute card.

My only child/son is grown and so are all of my nieces and nephews.  And they are just starting to make families, so I don't make many cards for kids.   Hopefully, that will change soon.  My niece's kids are just getting to the point where they like the cards.

So with that said, I was surprised when I opened the envelope from Patty and saw dinosaurs.  Not my norm, but look at the card.  The colors, the shapes,  the detail.  This is a sharp card.  Thank you so much for sending me a card outside of my box.  I may have to relook at some stamp sets.

Annette sent me the next one and it is a bear holding a present with a balloon on the side. I am so bad about forgetting to use my twine.  I am getting better but a little twine adds so much to a card.   Thanks for sending me a cute card.

Wow, this is a long post.  I am so sorry.  Hopefully, you are enjoying the birthday cards.

I am off to mop the kitchen and work on some other things.  I will chat with all of you later.  I hope you have a good one.

More Birthday Cards

Hello.  I am only going to post a couple of cards tonight.  There is rain in the area and I always getting a small migraine and I am just going to spend the evening watching TV with my husband.  I will be back to normal tomorrow.

The first is another shadow box with fairies and a unicorn.  Another card my niece's daughter would love.  She can never see this card in person.  I will lose it.  lol   I just love the bright colors that Lori used.  Absolutely amazing.  The rainbows and unicorn shimmer so I am assuming she used Winks of Stella or something similar on them.  Unicorns and fairies are magical so the shimmer is a perfect touch.

I am going back to the larger pictures.  I just like them better...

As I have mentioned, I love fall.  So the next two cards were great.  I will probably keep these out with my other fall cards.  The others are going in my keepsake box so that I can pull them out when I need a smile.

One of my favorite cards to make is a shaker card.  Doreen, I have already told you on facebook that I loved the card but once again, I love it.  Orange is a favorite color and it is fall.  And a shaker.  I don't know what else to say.  But thank you.

The last one for tonight is another fall (as I mentioned).  This is one of my favorite Lawn Fawn Fall sets.  It is sitting on my craft table waiting on me to use it for some of my fall/Thanksgiving cards.  Who knows I may even make a few birthday cards with it.  Jennifer from Canada made this one.  Great job on the coloring and just putting the card together.

I will post more tomorrow.   I really need to get my craft table cleaned off so I can work on some projects.

Chat with you later.  Have a great evening.

More Birthday Cards

Hello.  Good Morning.  It sure is early, but I am determined to get an early start today.  So much to do.....

I wanted to start by posting a few more cards.  Once again, these came from Lawn Fawn Addicts.  Which is a wonderful group of people. If you want to see the previous cards, check them out here.  I am going to post 5 more cards now and hopefully a few more later today.

The first card is a sailboat with a cute bunny.  So cute.  I didn't remember this set but it would be great to use.  I love the blue background.  It could be the water or the sky.  The sails are pattern paper cut and added to the image after stamping.  I love using this method.  This card wasn't signed and I got the envelopes out of order so I am not sure who made it but I just love it.

I posted a card using this koala yesterday and it is so much fun to see him used a different way in this card.  There are just so many possibilities for him.  The 'koalafied to party' sentiment is also by Lawn Fawn.  The card came to me from Linda.  Such a great birthday card.

I am making the pictures smaller today hoping the post won't be so long but I really like the bigger pictures.  I will think about it during the day and I may go back  to the larger pictures.  We will see....lol

It's fall so pumpkin cards are perfect for birthdays in my opinion.  I love that my birthday is in the fall because I love the fall season and all of the pumpkins and leaves you see this time of year.   This card is no exception.  It is made by Erin.  She did a great job making the color in the acorns on the inside of the pumpkin.  I have so much trouble doing this so I really appreciate when it comes together.

Yesterday, I mentioned that I loved apples and that I had gotten two cards with apples on them.  This was the other one.  Tara made this one and she did a great job coloring the apples.  I like the mixture of red, green and yellow ones.  It is a simple card but just so clean and nice looking.  Time to pull out my apple basket stamp.   Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh god,  it is too early.  I just closed this without saving it.  I thought I had lost it all.  But I didn't.  Thank goodness.

The last card....Laura sent me a airplane card.  I am always looking for cards to make for the males in the family and I love this one.  I am not saying this can't be used for a female.  It can.  It was.  But I know a couple of guys that would love this card as much as I did.  So thanks for a great idea.

Let me know your thoughts on the size of the pictures.  I really like the larger ones but for something like this, it makes the post so long.  It just goes on and on....I guess I would do less cards?  Things to think about, I guess.

I hope everyone has a great day.  I have a lot to do.  Hopefully, it will be a productive day.  I will let you know.  Have a great one.

Nuvo Drops

Hello again.

Now for my card using the Nuvo drops.  I have seen these around and I just haven't picked any up.  After getting the card from the Lawn Fawn group, I just had to try it.  I was in the middle of placing a Scrapbook.com order so I added a couple of bottles.  I will be picking up more of them.  I need a Christmas green and a blue to use with snowflakes.  So stay tune.....

The frame around the card is from MorningStar.  I have had it for years and I just have to pull it out from time to time.  Most of the rest are Lawn Fawn and then a few unknown
ones.  I added Winks of Stella on the leaves to make them shimmer and put Nuvo drops all over the place.

As I said I had fun putting this card together.  It is always fun trying something new.

That's it for tonight.  Have a good one.  See you tomorrow hopefully.

Birthday Cards

Hello.  What a week.  It has been so busy but what else is new.  Yesterday morning, I got a notice on my phone that we were expecting our first frost advisory.  With every thing else going on, I haven't started winterizing the yard so I spend yesterday during that.  I got half of it done.  I had meant to finish it today but I didn't make it.  So hopefully tomorrow.

In the meantime, Sunday was my birthday.  My husband took me to lunch and went shopping with me.  And then we came home and just relaxed around the house.  It was just a perfect day.

I am a member of the Lawn Fawn Addicts facebook page.  They have a birthday club.  I signed up a few months ago.  I have enjoyed making cards each month.   I didn't know what to expect when it came to getting cards.  Oh man,  I was just floored.  I received 30 cards and they were all just amazing.  I want to take the next couple of days and showcase the cards.

I don't remember what order the cards arrived so I am just picking them at random. I will be showing all of the cards over the next few days.

The first is from Erica W.  I have this koala and he is just too cute.   He just makes me smile.

The picture doesn't show it but the white paper shimmers.
And then she had the cute little mulit-colored dots  including the koala's nose and ears.  I am assuming she used Nuvo Drops.  I haven't used it before so I went immediately and ordered some .  It is so much fun to play with.  I will be showing off a card with it.

Card #2 was from another Sarah (not me).  Who doesn't love puppies?  I just love the simple, clean little card.  Just so precious.  She also stamped a little doggie bone on the inside of the card.  I always forget to do this so it is a nice little touch.

One of my favorite things is apples.  My kitchen has apples all over it.  No one in the group knew this but since Fall is here, I got a couple of apple cards.  Just perfect.  Here is the first one.  It was by Cheri.  Cheri, if you are reading this.  The coloring is great.  The leaves on the tree look so amazing.  Such a great job.

I feel like I am using the same words over and over but I was so blown away with all of the cards.  All of the ladies did an amazing job and I just loved going to the mailbox each day.

The next one is a cat.  I have a spoiled cat, who drives me crazy, so kitty cat cards are always welcome.  The shape is so different but I just love it.  I am always looking for shapes different from the normal circle, square, rectangle, etc.  When you open it up, another cat pops up.  The way it is put together, you would never know that it was a pop up.  So flat.  Mary made this card.  I would have take a picture of the inside but I didn't want to show Mary's last name just in case.

The next card was using the Lawn Fawn shadow box card die.  I don't have this one and I don't know why.  It will be going on my wishlist.  It folds flat and would be a great surprise when opening a card.  Susan made the card with fairies flying around.  For the first time ever, I am glad my niece doesn't live near me.  If her daughter saw this card, she would want it and I am not willing to share.  I know bad of me.  But a sweet sweet card.

And the last one for tonight is a nice wintry scene one.  It isn't signed on the inside and even though I kept the envelopes, they got dumped on the floor at some point and now I don't know which envelopes go with which cards.  Sorry.  If the maker of this card comes on here, please let me know it is your card and I will gladly give you credit for it.  This is a great stamp set.  I just love to use it during the winter and I loved how you colored it and used the stars in the sky.

That is all for the night.  I hope you enjoyed the cards and if you made any of these, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I just loved getting the cards.  It was a great pleasure.

I hope everyone has a great night and come back tomorrow for more cards.

The rest of the shakers

Hello again.

I made a few more shakers and I wanted to show them to you.  Plus I thought I would mention that these are big shakers. All of them average about 5 inches.

Once again, if you missed the post earlier today, I got the tutorial for these shakers from Paper Phenomenon.  They are one of her new tutorials, Fast and Fun Inserts

They are suppose to go into albums as extras, but I am going to add a pocket on the back and add a gift card.  The ghost will Halloween and the candy corn and pumpkin, I am saving for Thanksgiving.  Kathy (from Paper Phenomenon) is going to add a witch's hat and bat tomorrow, so I am sure I will be making them this weekend.

She hasn't mentioned any more fall ones so I may try to make a leaf on my own.  If I get it figured out, I will show them off to you.

It is going to take forever to clean off my table tonight.  And I also need to pick up the kitchen.   Tomorrow morning, I am going to run some errands but after that I will have some time in my craft room.

I hope everyone has a wonderful night and I will see all of you tomorrow.
