My Scrap Chick

After being sick and having family visiting from out of town, my sister and I just had to get on skype today.  We haven't made anything together in over a week.  We decided to play with some of our My Scrap Chick patterns.

The first thing we made was the Fall Treat Boxes.  These are the cutest boxes.  I just love the scarecrows. They will be perfect for the Harvest Link Party at My Scrap Chick.

It is hard to tell but I textured the girl's hair and the center of her flower.

I am also going to use the scarecrows for challenges at CardzTV and Parade Your Crafts.

Have a great evening.  I am off to make something else.

Imagine That - Cocoa Penguin

I think this little penguin is adorable.  I will probably use him again before Christmas.  He is by Imagine That digis by Kris.  She is running a challenge this month with him.  If you play in the September Challenge, you will get the image for the October challenge free. It is a great deal.  If you haven't entered, you have until tomorrow.

I used ribbon behind the image and then a texture folder on the background page.  You can't tell by the picture but the head and feet are cut out and layered with foam dots. It was a lot of fun.

I am also going to use this card for Tuesday Throwdown, whose theme is Clean and Simple.

Have a nice evening.  Hopefully I will be back with another card.

More Tic Tacs

While I had my tic tacs out, I decided to go ahead and make some fall ones.  So here are some orange pumpkins for you.  These are just so quick and easy to put together.

I need to find some red tic tacs for Christmas.  If I find them, I will let you know.

Have a nice evening.

Tic Tacs

My In-Laws are visiting from Alabama, which is why I haven't been posted as much as usual.  Plus I have been sick.  Several years ago, I started leaving some little treat box on their bed each night that they stay.  Tonight's treat box is these cute little tic tac boxes.  I even made an Alabama one for my son who is visiting from college.

Have a nice night everyone.

Cut It Up Challenge

It is time for another challenge at Cut It Up.  It runs through October 2, 2013.  The challenge this time around will be 'Going in Circles'.  Use circles on your project.  It must have at least one die cut.

Please go over and join the challenge.  It should be lots of fun.  And it is sponsored by Unity Stamp Company and As Cute As a Button.  The Design Team has come up with a lot of great ideas.  I hope to see you there.

Have a great evening.

Alabama Roll Tide Elephant

My In-Laws and son will be visiting next weekend.  I am trying to make a few things up so I will have some little gifts to surprise them with.  Some time ago, I found these little pixy sticks on sell.  I am now trying to use them up, so I made an elephant for one of them for my son.  I am sure he will get a kick out of it.

Have a great night.

Whimsie Doodles

As I said earlier, I am hooked on easel cards.  Over the years, I have been decorating my kitchen in apples so I am always looking at apples.  Even if it is in a card, so I decided to make an apple easel card.

And since I didn't want just a plain apple, I used one of my textured folders and put a swirl on the apple.  Then I printed and cut out 'Apple Lizzie' by Whimsie Doodles.  The message area has two apple brads, one to keep the card in place and the other is just for looks.

The print & cut feature on my silhouette is becoming my favorite technique.  It is just so use to offset a digital stamp and then cut it.

I am going to use this card in several challenges:

Whimsie Doodles - Back to School
Silhouette Weekly Shape Challenge - Welding
QKR Stampede - Back to School
Repeat Impressions - Food
Craft Spot by Kimberly - Favorite Technique

I hope every one has a great week.  It is hard to believe that it is the middle of the week already.

Pen Pal Mouse - Meljen Design

I have been going through all of my favorite stamp companies and trying to use my stamps, either digital or rubber, more often.  The two I am working on right now is Meljen Design and Whimsie Doodles.  You will be seeing alot of these digital stamps over the next few weeks.

I started today with the Penpal Mouse from Meljen Design.  I thought it would be good for the 'Making the Grade' challenge at Meljen.  Once I had the mouse cut out and colored, I had to figure out what the card would look like.  I decided to use the sketch over at Repeat Impressions.  This way I am able to enter two challenges with one card.

I colored the mouse with my copic markers and used one of my texture folders for the base card.

I hope everyone has a great day.

My Scrap Chick

My Scrap Chick is looking for design team members.  I just love her site and I would love to be picked as a team member.  To be considered, I have to post a project and give a description of it and my style.

I just had to pick an easel card as my project because that is the first thing I bought from My Scrap Chick.  The set from My Scrap Chick are so easy to put together.  I recently purchased some of her retired files and I can't wait to play with them.  I am working on converting them to studio files now.

This easel card is the Beach easel card.  The kit came with 4 titles so you could make the card to your liking.  I chose the 'Another Day in Paradise' title.  I made this project just like the kit but that is the great thing about some many of the My Scrap Chick files, you can change them up and add things to them.

If I get picked for the DT, it will be fun to change the patterns up and make other cards and 3D projects.  I mainly make cards but I also love to make gift boxes and other 3D projects.

I hope you have a great evening and hopefully I will be back later with a new card or something.

Whimsical Designs

Stephanie at Whimsical Designs announced a couple of weeks ago that she was going to quit having challenges.  She announced the winners of the last few challenges today.  I was one of them.

I am going to really miss the challenges but I completely understand about life getting the way of blogs some times.  I hope she continues to post to her site.

Have a great evening.

Lunch Time

I work right down the street from the house, so this morning before leaving for work, I cut out all of the pieces for this card.  When I came home for lunch, I colored the Present Girl from Whimsie Doodles and put my gift box card together.

I think it came out pretty good.  It was suppose to hold a gift card but I made it into a normal card.

I am going to enter it into the Christmas challenge at Our Daily Bread.

Have a great afternoon.

Whimsie Doodles & Kraft Journal

While I was looking at my Whimsie Doodles' images, I decided to use one of the Halloween ones for the sketch challenge at Kraft Journal.  This is the Skinny Witch Flying.  She is so cute.  Perfect for Halloween.

I enlarged the spider hanging off the broom and cut him out using the print and cut option on my Silhouette.  The is a great option on the Silhouette for all of my digital stamps.

I thought about use some crystal lacquer on the spider's eyes but didn't against it.

Have a great Sunday.

Whimsie Doodles

One of my favorite digital companies is Whimsie Doodles.  I bought my first digital stamp from them.  I just love their digital stamps.  They print out so well and they usually have a saying to go with them.

Back in June, they ran a challenge and then went on vacation for two months.  I really hadn't thought about it.  Well, this morning, I had a message in my inbox saying I had won the challenge.  I was just shocked.

As a prize, I got to pick one of the new images.  They recently came out with four new Halloween images.  And I haven't bought any yet so I now have a new Halloween digital stamp to play with.  Thank you so much Whimsie Doodles.  I can't wait.

Have a great day everyone.

Football Easel Card

I am so glad you can love multiple things when it comes to crafting.  Because I have just fallen in love with easel cards.  Most of the ones I have made with my Cameo, so far, have been patterns.  All I had to do was pick out paper, cut them out and put them together.

Today, I decided to try my hand at making my own design.  Since it was college football day at my house, it seemed only natural to make a football easel card.  I used a football I found on Silhouette Online.

Once I had it all together, I decided it still needed something so I took the football player from Meljen Designs (I still had some on my desk from a few weeks ago.) and put him on the edge of the football.  I colored him in the University of Alabama colors since that is my favorite team.

I just love how it came out.  I will be making several of these to send out to various family members.  And one of the cards will be going on my football table.

I am going to use the card for the Eureka Stamps' shaped card challenge and the paper piercing challenge at C.R.A.F.T.

Have a great night everyone.

Countdown Begins

My sister says it is too early to start getting ready for Fall.  I disagree.  I have to start early so I have time to get most of what I want to do done.  So to that end, I am going to start a count on how many cards I have made for the up coming holidays.  I am going to keep the list on the side of my site so it will be a constant remainder to work on my cards.

I may even add some craft goals on there.

Have a good evening.

One More

I decided to do one more card tonight.  I am not ready to start on Christmas cards or for the cold weather, but I decided to put out my marshmallow snowman for the Cardz TV  toasted marshmallow challenge.  Surely my snowman has toasted marshmallows.

I am going to use the card a couple more challenges.

  1) Sketch Saturday - My squares are a little smaller than the ones on the challenge but it is the same idea.
  2) Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes

This is definitely it for tonight.  I need to go to bed.  Have a great night.

Meljen

Well, I have made two cards now that I actually like.  It is the first two in over a week.  I am getting back into the mood for stamping.  It probably helps that I am slowly getting over the cold I caught.

I finished up several cards today and then started working on the Meljen's Design challenge.  It was to make a card with some thing starting with the first letter of your name.  I had several digital stamps that would have worked, but I decided to use the 'Smile Bug' stamp.  I have a couple of friends that are going through a hard time and I thought it would put a smile on their faces for a little while.

I made a similar card a few months ago with the Miss you birdie stamp, and I really liked it so this one is close.  The Smile is bigger and takes up most of the card but I was looking for some thing simple.  I put glitter on the ladybug and the heart.  I used scraps for every thing except the base card.

I hope everyone had a good night.  I will be back tomorrow with some thing else hopefully.

First Fall card

I am been in what I call a rut.  I have made some cards, but I haven't liked any of them enough to make multiple cards.  Tonight, I finally made a card, I liked.  It will be my first Fall card of the season.

I still have some summer cards that I haven't mailed but I think I am going to put them up until the middle of winter when everyone is tried of the cold weather.

I started this card off with the sketch challenge over at Little Miss Muffet.  I just found her site, so I only a few digital stamps by her.  I am sure that will change.  I picked up two of her pumpkins.  I am sure you will see the other one in the next few days.

I am also going to use this card in the last Whimsical Design challenge and Cardz Tv's Harvest challenge

Since I cut the pumpkins with the print and cut option on my silhouette, I am using it for the Silhouette Weekly Shape Challenge.  I also cut the circle out with my silhouette.

I hope you have a great week.

Impression Obsession

When I saw that the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown was "Best Friends", I immediately thought of the IO stamp that I bought at the Novi Convention.  It just fit with the theme.

I am going to use this card in a couple of challenges (see below) and then I am going to leave the card in my husband's lunchbox for tomorrow.  I like to occasionally leave him a card for no reason.

Here are the challenges I am entering with this card:

Parade Your Craft - Anything Goes
   Tuesday Throwdown - Best Friends

I hope you have a good week.

Too Cute By Jessica

Too Cute By Jessica is the sponsor for this week's challenge at Cut It Up Challenges.  She is running a huge sale right now.  60% off everything on her site.

I thought I would pass on the sale, just in case some one wants to check it out.  I love finding great deals and thought there might be others that agree.

Happy Shopping.

Challenges

I have to hurry and post this card.  I haven't been feeling good.  I catch my first cold of the school year.  I really wanted to enter a couple of challenges today so this is what I came up with.

I used the waterfall set of Sick Chicks by Art Gone Wild.  I just love these sets.  You don't have to look for four stamps.  They are all together.  I have a beach set also and I may go ahead and make some even though summer is over.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:

Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes
Craft Spot by Kimberly - Get Well
   Eureka Stamps - Gentle Thoughts

Cut It Up Challenge

It is time for my first challenge at Cut It Up Challenges as a member of the design team.  The theme this week is 'Labor Day - celebrate a pregnancy or a new baby'.  It is sponsored by Too Cute by Jessica.

I am past having babies and am not ready for grand babies yet, so I wasn't sure what to do for this challenge, but I went to Too Cute By Jessica's site and she had the cutest baby set.  It has a baby bottle card and a 3D baby shoe.  I thought the baby bottle was so cute that I just had to use it for the challenge.

The rest of the design team has come out with some great ideas, so go check them out.  I hope you see some thing that will inspire you.

The challenge will run from September 6th through September 18th, so make a card and enter the challenge.

Have a great day.

Meljen & other challenges

Hello everyone.

Usually I make my bears brown especially my Meljen's Design bears, but I decided to go outside of my normal box and do this bear black.  And instead of regular boots, I made yellow rain boots.  It is hard to tell from the picture but there is glitter on the little sheriff's badge.

I am using this card in the following challenges:

Meljen's DesignsSketch
Cardz TV - Color Pop (black, yellow and white)

I hope you had a great day.

C.R.A.F.T

I work in a school, so every May/June, I get a lot of graduation open house invites.  This card is one of my favorites to use.  I try to keep them on hand just in case.  I made a few more so I wouldn't be so rushed in May.  At least, I am ahead on something.

I am using the card for the C.R.A.F.T.'s challenge.  It is a hard card to mail because every thing gets flattened, but it is perfect for the local parties every year.

Have a great evening.

Our Daily Bread - Sketch Challenge

I am once again, putting a card together at the last minute.  I love the sketches at Our Daily Bread this month and I really wanted to make one last card to use on the sketches.  I usually use Our Daily Bread stamps, but I really didn't have anything that I thought would work.  I had this Inky Antics stamp on my table so I picked it up and used it.

I think if I make more of these, I will change out the gray strip in the middle.  I think another pattern paper would look good here.  If I change it, I will post a picture.

Off to work.  Have a nice day.

I wish this was me today.
