Father's Day

Hello.  Happy Saturday.  I hope every one has plans to enjoy this weekend.  I am working but I plan on working on my Father's Day card this weekend.  I know I should only need one, but I need at least three (my husband, my Dad, and my Father-in-law).  I will probably make several more just to send to a few more Dads.

This is the first one.  My husband is an electrician so all the tools work great for him.  I did it in red because that is his favorite color.  Really quick and easy but a great card.

To add my on touch to the pattern, I took the screwdriver and screw, colored them with my copics and put them inside the card.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
Creative Cutting - Father's Day Cards
   Eureka - Father's Day

Have a great day and hopefully I will feel like playing tonight after work.  Have a good one.

Ice Cream Shaker

Hello.  I started out making this card for the Lori Whitlock Out of the Box challenge, but it closed before I finished.  But that didn't stop me from making a cute card.

This is the Ice Cream shaker card by Lori Whitlock.  I enlarged it and then cut 10 ice cream cones with the shaker part cut out.  I glued it all together, added the seed beads and  a message on the back card.  Then I added to top layers and ...... there is my card.  I really liked how it came out.

The first one didn't have enough seed beads but I fixed that problem with the last two.  And they should be lite enough that there won't be any extra postage.

I am going to use this card in the following challenges:
   Get Inky -  Summer Fun
   Silhouette Challenges - Shaped Cards

Have a great evening.

Meljen's Designs

Hello.  Well it has been a busy day for me under the circumstances.  Yes, I am still on Wednesday in my mind even though it is Thursday according to the clock.

I have had this strawberry bear fairy on my to do list for some time.  He/she is so cute.  I normally would color the strawberry red but I wanted it to match the paper so I used a pink copic marker.  I think it comes close to matching.

I used the sketch from Meljen's current challenge.  It is a little different but I made the image bigger than I thought.  I am  also going to use the card in the Curtain Call Something Simple challenge.

This will be the last card for the night.  I am working on one that I hope to finish tomorrow after work.  Have a good one.

Best of May

I forgot to review the month of May.....

It was a good month.  I now have less that two weeks of school left.  Then summer vacation.  I will miss the paychecks but I am looking forward to the next few months.  Lots of projects to work on and hopefully lots of crafty time.

I won two challenges and was in the top 5 for another.  That's a pretty good month for me.  My post are still down but I am hoping to get back into the swing of things this month.  I still feel like I am in a slump.  I think it is because I am having more migraines than usual.

Now for my top 5 cards for the month:

I haven't been making any goals for the upcoming month but this month, I do have several things I want to get done.

     1)  Catch up on all of my unfinished projects
     2)  Get the shelves put up in my craft room and get them organized
     3)  Get my postings back up to over 25 a month
     4)  Send out more cards to family and friends.

That is the month of May.  I hope every one has a great month of June.

Another Gift Bag

Hello again.  I forgot to post the first gift bag that I made.  When I made it.  I put the crab on the wrong side so I decorated the right side with the cut out and some red gingham paper.  I like how it came out.  I don't know which way I like best.

I have a gift basket where I keep small boxes and treat containers for when we have company.  This little bag will go in there.  Not sure what kind of candy I will put in it.  Maybe a small wash cloth and a bottle of liquid soap.

Have a good one.

Apple Gift Bag

Hello.  As promised here is the apple gift bag.

The bag is by Lori Whitlock.  I added the apple cutout.  I saw the idea on Brigit's Scraps.  It will be a great gift idea.  I think I am going to add some apple flavored candy inside.  The paper is by Doodlebug.  I just love their two sided paper.

Chat with you later.  Have a good one.

My Rainy Day

Hello.  It has been rainy here all day.  Usually on rainy days, I read and play around in my craft room.  I haven't felt really good today.  Coming off a three day migraine.

So I thought I would organize a little bit.  Something without a lot of thought.  I decided to figure out a better way to store my Trendy Twine.  I love how they send it in little bundles but I always seem to end with a knot.

I went into my Designer Studio for my Silhouette to see what I could come up with.  I found these admit one tickets.  I deleted every thing out of the middle and just cut the shape.  Then I glued the Trendy Twine label to the bottom and cut a slit.  From there all I had to do was wrap my twine on.

This makes it so much easier.  I just hang them on my shelf and they are easy to get to.  So you will be seeing the  twine more often.

Have a great afternoon/evening and I might be back later with a cute little gift bag.
