Cut It Up

Hello and Happy Friday.  This is my last Friday off.  School starts back on Tuesday.  I am ready to go back but I am going to miss being home all day.  Less time to get every thing done.  At least it is a long weekend.  Labor Day weekend and the start of college football.  What a great weekend.

It is time for another Cut It Up challenge.  I picked the theme.  I was originally going to pick some thing to do with Labor Day, but I didn't think it would be fair to those outside the USA.  Plus, as I said, it is the start of college football and that is major around my house.  So the theme is sports.  Have fun with it.  Any sport.

It is sponsored this time by One Happy Cut.  The winner will get a $15 gift code.  What an amazing prize.

I used this image from the Silhouette Online store.  I duplicated it and then make a card out of it.  Real simple but a perfect card for all of the family.

I look forward to seeing every one's projects.  Have a great day.

Strawberry Jam

Hello.  I am been busy today finishing up a few summer projects.  But in between, I did get time to make some cards.

When I updated my challenge list last night and saw the In A Jam challenge at City Crafter, I knew what I was going to make.  This card has been on my list all summer.  I saw it over at Lori Whitlock's blog.  My sister loves strawberries, so it was a must.  Plus I like strawberries too.  I changed it up a little.  I had to make it my own.  In the tutorial, she used twine instead of the ribbon, but I left and then I added two gemstones in the top corner.  I made four all of them had different tops.  I went through my scraps looking for plaids, because home made jam has to have a plaid cloth on the top of it. I just love how this came out.

I am going to use it in the following challenges:
Hiding In My Craft Room - Anything Goes
   Jo's Scrap Shack  Anything Goes
   Cupcake Inspiration - Layers
City Crafter - In A Jam

I am off to finish one more card.  Chat with you soon.

Happy Birthday

Hello again.  I have another card for you.  I need some birthday cards for this month, so I will be working on them over the next few days.

I am not sure about this color scheme.  I like the coral and mint.  It is outside the box for me, not what I would normal do.  I like the fancy little fold.  In order to open the card, you have to take the ribbon completely out.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Fab N Funky - Things with Wings
Clear It Out - Fancy Folds and Dies
Just Add Ink - Color Challenge
Paper Shelter - Come Fly With Me
   Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes #242

I don't know if I will be back or not.  Have a good one.

Fall Flowers

Hello.  This weekend is Labor Day weekend in the USA and it is good because I am really getting into Fall already.  It is hot here, but if I stay inside in the air-conditioning I won't notice it.

After working all weekend, I am finally getting some stamping time.    I should be doing other things but I really wanted to work on a few cards.  I showed this stamp to my sister and I told her what I wanted to do with it and she said it wouldn't work.  Under all of the die cut flowers, there are some stamped flowers.  I just covered them up.

The stamp is by Make An Impression.  Years ago, they made a bunch of stamps with this duel purpose.  I haven't used them in a while and I decided to play with a few of them.  All of the punches are Punch Bunch punches.

I am using it in the following challenges:
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Through The Purple Haze - Flowers
Crafty Gals - Lots of Layers (flowers and leaves)
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes #48
Really Reasonable Ribbon - Autumn Colors
   Tuesday Throwdown - Just Because

Chat with you a little later.

Another surprise card

Hello again.  One more card for tonight.  After that I am probably finished for the night.  I am in the middle of a good book and it is calling to me.

I got this little Mr Fix It from Little Miss Muffet.  I thought I would make up a card and hide it for my husband.  They are in the middle of a big job and it has meant long hours and lots of headaches trying to get every thing else done around the big job.  Maybe this will be a little pick me up for him when he finds it.  I did denim overalls and a gray shirt which is what my husband wears most of the time.

The challenge at As You Like It is your two favorite embellishments and why.  I use ribbon and my perler beads more than anything.  I have a wide selection of both and can almost always find some thing that will work.  And even though, this is a masculine card, the ribbon looks good on it.

I am using it in the following challenges:
As You Like It - 2 Embellishment & Why
Just Add Ink - Cards for Male
Little Miss Muffet - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
   2 Crafty Girls - Sketch #5

Off to enjoy my book.  Chat tomorrow.

Christmas in August

Hello and Happy Tuesday.

Yesterday when I was making the birthday boxes for work, I decided to go ahead and make some for the countdown boxes.  I need to do 6 this month and this is number 3.  It should be too hard to get a few more done this week.

Once again, this was a Sizzix treat box die.  I have had it for a lot of years and I still love it.  It cuts great and goes together easy.  I used a bunch of holly leaves from the Silhouette Online store.  I will buy the candy for these right before Thanksgiving.  I added gems for the holly berries.

I am using it for the following challenges:
Inky Impressions - Christmas in August
   Artistic Inspiration - Anything Goes
   Crafty Hazelnut's - Anything Goes

I should be back later with some thing else.  But I have some housework to do first.

Me again

Wow, three cards in one day.  That is a first in quite a while.  I have enjoyed playing around tonight.

A couple of weeks ago, I took out my Papertrey Friendship Jar set, I love this set and I haven't use the summer one in a while.  I had really meant to use the flags for the 4th of July, but I ran out of time.  Strawberry season ended some time ago also, but I buy strawberries until late late summer so I don't know why I can't use them on my card.

I have never been good at masking, but this came out really good, if I say so myself.  I added some transparency paper to the top of the jar to give it so shine.

I am using it in the following challenges:
City Crafters - Just One Corner
   Curtain Call - Mason Jars
Di's Digitals - Ribbon, Lace or Twine
613 Ave Create - Anything Goes

This is probably it for tonight.  See you all tomorrow.
